spent about $200 on my prescription sunglasses. Randolph Engineering. Made in the US and not owned by conglomerate Luxottica (which owns/manufactures most brands you'll be familiar with like Ray-ban and Oakley and they also own LensCrafters and they lobby for legislation that causes you to have to pay for an eye exam every 5 minutes just to get new glasses). I got them online from a site that doesn't verify prescription. I just gave them the numbers off of my latest prescription (which was 2 years old, but my prescription hasn't changed for over 10 years). Won't mention the site because I don't want to sound like a spammer.
Won't buy more until my prescription changes or I break them. I've had these ones for 3-4 years or so now.
I spend about $200 on mine. I’ve found that they are a lot more durable, my last pair lasted 12 years before a hinge broke, and I had even sat on them a couple times. When I spend more on them, im less likely to lose them than if I spent $10-$20 on a pair. But then, I also don’t follow the latest fashions, I stick with Ray-Ban new wayfarers and don’t have any plans to change
I wouldn’t buy sunglasses. I don’t ever wear them because they make my nose look big, and because my dad and my older brother wear them all the time and they’ve become so sensitive to bright light they can barely see outside without them, which I think is kinda sad.
A lot, not because I don't like them, but because I manage to break them or scratch the hell out of them.

There's nothing intrinsically superior about expensive sunglasses. They are largely made of polycarbonate which isn't expensive. Given that, about $20 max makes sense to me.
You can buy branded plastic with a 3,000% percent mark up though lol. It makes no logical sense to me though personally.
I have 2 rules
1 they must be polarized, 2 they must be under $200 CAD
The thing about polarization is its always the same amount of light blocked. Polaroids always remove 50% of light intensity from the first film. You learn this in highschool if you take physics. So a $40 and a $400 pair of polarized sunglasses will protect your eyes the exact same amount. $200 is my limit as that gives you a good style variety with decent build quality. You can get a good pair for around $100 no problem
Maui Jim is my favorite brand, usually in the high $100's but they replace temples for the cost of shipping and replace lenses for $50. They are very light and comfortable, a good deal if you don't lose them.
I buy Oakley's, and they're about $240. I used to just buy the cheap sunglasses at the pharmacy, but they always fell apart, even if I was really careful with them.
1 buck lol, i get glasses at the dollar store, and if i really want some nicer ones ill spend like 10 bucks on some, i dont find glasses very pressing or say a must have item, unless u work in the sun a lot,
I pay $150 for Julbo Explorer 2.0 sunglasses. I live in a desert and need proper sunglasses.
Ah okay, that's interesting.
Yeah, that's good thinking. I'm sure they can. I guess it depends on the type of desert too, anything with a bunch of sand or dust and I'd look more at goggle type shades
Not much especially since I can't wear them with glasses but I've heard walgreens can have some quality affordable ones
I spent hundreds on quality sunglasses before. I love Rayban wayfarers polarized and also some Oakley sunglasses.
I got mine in the do-it-yourself market, safety equipment. They'd be some 4 units in Euro's.
I have a couple of wealthy buddies... they never noticed.
I got pair of Men's foster grants and paid like $17.00 for them
and i only wear them when i know i will be out and about or
going walking when the sun is shining.
We’ll I have transition lenses in my glasses, so technically nothing. But also technically like 100$ every 3-5 years.
I need the sunglass to correct my eyes, that are -1.75, -0.75 and get minor upgrades, so a pair can cost between 150 and 220.
probably like $10 in a year. They cost like $2-$3 here
Just curious why sunglasses in particular?
Because I found it interesting some people spend so much money on them. And I wanted to know the reasons why.
It just baffled me that people would drop $300 or more for shades.
Great. I should start selling those too.
$5. In cheap and usually end up breaking them anyways
$0.00 this year. Lol I don’t buy sunglasses very often 😎
My Ray Bans run about $150.
My Gucci's are near $500.
Sooooo much... 459. Is my most expensive pair so far.
I had an old girlfriend who was crazy about sunglasses. I never understood the fascination.
Mine tend to be expensive since they are prescription sun glasses.
Like $5. Having said that someone gave me an expensive pair that I’ve used for years.
I bought a pair of Ray-Ban aviators for like $150 for my 20th birthday gift.
I just spent $15 on Ebay for a set of 2 pairs of polarized clip-ons - one gray for day, one amber for night, both in a nice case with cleaning cloth.
My last pair cost me $230 for 8 pairs of presciption glasses and 2 pairs of Sunglasses.
That's what I call a deal.
I rock my 90 dollar ray bans most of the time when I drive. I do have a $350 pair of Gucci sunglasses which seems like a waste cause I like my Ray Bans more.
One pair I’ve got was about $300, most of mine were more like 50
I only sue sunglasses while driving or playing golf. I usually spend $20 on a pair.
Seriously? Maybe one during a summer vacation where the sun was just a little too much. 5$? 10$
But also i wear glasses so wearing sunglasses is compromising my eyesight 😂😂
A reasonable amount. Not much. Max I’d be willing to spend is $25-30
Don't think I've ever bought a pair far as i can remember.
I never spent more than $20 because every 3-4 months, either I lose them or break them.
I only buy Ray Bans and I’ll wait for them to go sale below $100.
i just spend 24. dollars on 2 pair one day time one night time.
Never would have put hundreds into mine... but I fell in love with them. So I guess there's a first for everything.
Nothing. I’m fine without them. (Especially because I’d still be wearing my glasses under them. lol Not fun.)
I wear prescription sunnies, between $200-$300
Like... maybe $20 a year
Mine were a gift but lk $300
Almost nothing, I wear them for 15 days a year ahahah
I don't look at prices I just buy things I want... Luckily I don't want a lot.
About $200 on my new pair of aviators.
I've spent $175 before Ray-Bans
None. I have prescription glasses, so, I generally don't use sunnys
200 cause I If they break I get parts to fix them.
$300 but mine are prescription.
300 USD on last purchase
Maybe $5.00.
