ummmmmmmmm
Why do people generally look better tan?
ummmmmmmmm
I likes tan when it's natural and I've preference for olive colored skins, natural tans and different kinds of brown colors. It gives a warm look. I do however think it really depends on the person and not everyone suits the same things.
I think Asians, Africans, Middle-eastern, South-European and a few more groups suits either a tan or a brown skin tone best, while blonde and redheads tends to suit a lighter skin tone better. If Nordics tans too much they either ends up looking pink or orange.
Ariana Grande is natural a "person of color", so she would suit brown colors. That doesn't mean she suits the orange like spray she often wears because of it looks fake or exaggerated. The look brown people often have when they're indoor is the color Grande suits best and it's shown on the "before" picture, but because of the picture is poorly taken it's difficult to see it. I know about a blonde woman who suits a tan and that's Eva Green. She has also dyed her hair, eye brows and eye lashes black to compliment her new skin tone. I would say Camelot's Eva Green is rather the exception than the main rule.
A tan may show how much time the person spends outdoor, if they've an active lifestyle, travels a lot, are wealthy and it may hide small imperfections like pimples, spots etc., so therefor many consider it desirable.
I disagree, and no offense to anyone, but I love the Northern European ladies, especially the Irish with red hair, and very pale skin! Love the sweaters, and the natural red hair!!
Yes, I have been VERY attracted to many others!! I just really prefer the Irish ones! :)
Lol Ariana doesn’t look better because if a tan. She looks better because if all the surgeries lol chin, nose, eyes, lips and fake hair...
Anyway!!!
A tan tends to make people appear more “fit”
Have you seen those body builder competition things? ... they all wear this dark gold tan to make their muscles be more visibly exposed to be rated.
It doesn’t really make someone look better, it simply makes you appear less fat if you’re even fat to begin with.. otherwise lighter usually makes a face look more youthful.
Not all of these girls look better tanned. I personally look good if I spend a bit of time in the sun, but I am still fair. I guess it has more to do with the vitamin d than the skin color. Anyway, nothing drastic looks good on me. I am like a porcelain now, So with a bit of tan I am still fair skinned, just more sun kissed.
Because they like wanting to look like a 60 yr old at 40 because of sun damage. The one pic is a truck driver who had one side of his face to the sun all the time. The 3 ladies are under a special UV light.

(I would just like to set the record straight and clarify that while Ariana does get a spraytan, she's not THAT tan. That picture has been photoshopped to make her look darker. This is what all other pictures of her from that day look like:
Still tan but definitely not as crazy as the first pic.)
To answer your question, I think it's because people associate tans with having a "healthy glow". Vitamin D is good for you etc. But obviously the flip side of it is that being in the sun too much without sunscreen can actually do plenty of damage to your skin, and cause skin cancer.
And then on the other hand, people associate being pale with being sick, not going outside, having more prominent veins show through the skin etc.
First of all, ariana isn't tan - that's just making herself black to fit in with what's popular right now. And I think people look better with their natural tone. It's pretty easy to tell when someone gets a tan and it's usually never a good tan, it's more orange and fake.
I think that it’s because the color highlights the curves and details of your body better.
Take body building, they have to put on spray tan before their competitions. This allows their muscle definition to be seen better.
If you’re too pale or too dark, it removes some of the visibitliy of your natural features. So becoming a little lighter or getting a little darker, depending, can help you look a little better.
First of all, Arianna Grande looks fucking awful. It's like a reverse Michael Jackson.
Secondly, you only think tans look good because you were brought up to believe they are. If you go to Asia they love pale, white people and tans are considered ugly. They do everything to avoid the sun, including using long sleeves and gloves in the summer.
I don't know. I think it's a cultural thing we're it's what we've decided we find attractive and what we learn to consider attractive. The whole story of Snow White is based on the fact that, at one point in time, the paler the skin, the more beautiful someone was considered to be. I don't think tan inherently makes someone more beautiful. It might, but it might not and as the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
To each their own, but I don't think people look better tanned, not in those photos and not with anyone else. I'm also curious why some people think it looks better, and why some people would be willing to waste time and risk melanoma by purposefully tanning themselves.
Years ago it used to be that white skin was considered beautiful, but I personally think a light tan glow looks really nice. I don’t like dark or medium tans at all because people don’t take good care of their tan and so, most people’s tans look dull.
1 Your personal preference! Some cultures actually LIKE the pale looks! Look at China and certain Asian Countries, they like the pale look and the women there try to make sure to get the best skin creams to make them look so!

watch the store owner lol on 10:47!
It is because it hides freckles, moles, veins etc. It also makes the person look thinner and healthier. I feel many people are reminded of chocolate when they see such people. Caramel tan like Priyanka Chopra, Beyoncé etc is my favourite shade. I find guys with a nice tan so irresistible and it seems that they prefer pale skinned girls. I have also noticed that pale guys (especially if they are white) prefer tan girls as they look more exotic.
it doesn't hide those things but the rest I agree
I see white guys with both white and dark skins and the same with dark skinned people with both white and tan
I feel like those things stand out more against a pale skin and opposites attract.
some people date people that look like them because inadvertently they are conceited and want to date themselves without noticing
I disagree. Not everyone likes those who look like them. Some love a contrast.
I didn't say everyone I just see it a lot when couples look like brother and sister its weird
Lol I haven't seen that kind of couples. I have seen more couples that look nothing like each other. Like a pale girl with a darker guy and vice versa.
oh then you probably don't live in america
I don't.
not always I think just a bit of make up on face is all a girl needs its not color of skin it's personality an how well you dress that makes you look to the world in these sense of how we dress says a lot about how we feel about our selfs good post 👍
I dont think that. I have really pale skin and I always get comments on how nice it is
I heavily disagree, and the first image is a slam against white people. I dont like that at all. White women are beautiful as they are, pale. I prefer the beauty standard still prevalent in countries like Japan and Korea, where pale skin is seen as attractive.
They don't, at least not girls. I much rather prefer pale skin on girls.
you are wrong
It's kinda a double standard or oxymoron. Americans want darker skin, Indians want the pale fair skin, light skinned always seemed better. I know back in slavery times, if you were darker you'd work in the fields while mulatto were in the house.
I disagree. All these girls actually look better with their natural skintone. So I don't know why some people find tanning to be more attractive but I personally don't.
These are bad examples except ariana.
Middle two look better pale.
And i NEVER say that.
But yes, tans make you look better and healthier.
Pasty pale skin just looks like you're sick and or/ dead.
Usually darker skin is more exotic. Not always but it gives definition to the body and face as well. So defined cheekbones and jawlines look better. Hopefully this makes sense. Lol🌸💜🌸
NATURALLY tan/olive skin is nice. Fake tan is not. When people aren’t born tan, their facial features don’t suit it 🤷♀️
That’s why so many of them pile on makeup.
The first one is way too dark. It looks fucking weird. The middle three look better with that tan. The last one also looks worse with a tan (Probably because she has red hair).
I don't think they do, contrast is attractive.
As for these pictures, most of them are clearly just overexposed, that's why the "tans" look more natural in them.
