I don't understand this. Has this always been the case, for all of humanity's history, long before sunscreen was invented, but we've only just become able to do it? Or is it a modern phenomenon, due to industrially affecting the atmosphere, as with CFCs and the ozone layer?
Even stranger, I read an article about how even black people could suffer from UV rays and should use sunscreen as much as white people. Seriously? With all that melanin? What the hell's the point of it then?

I did start wearing it eventually, but my day cream has an SPF of 20 or 25 in there, so I just use that, but still have my sunscreen.
Nope. I'm lucky in the sense I don't burn, my skin just absorbs the sun.
My best friend always complains and compares herself to a vampire because if she spends too long in the sun without suncream she will burn- really badly, like once she did it, and she was bleeding afterwards- so every single time it's a sunny day and I complain about the heat (Because I'm not used to heat lol) she gives me the evils lol xD
Yes, but please for the love or God, wear Zinc only. Look into the chemicals that are in sunscreen, and you’ll see those exact chemicals could be the very cause of skin cancer. Don’t believe me? That’s fine. But I’ve researched this subject for years. I go into the sun 15 mins a day with no sunscreen (except on my face because of AHA & BHA I use) and then apply. ZINC ONLY!
Check the EWG sunscreen website. They've analyzed EVERY SINGLE sunscreen brand on the market and provided charts and curves on how protective each one is in different sun rays and intensities, also for protective clothing.
Compared to protective clothing, sunscreen hardly does anything. Just another marketing scam, ha ha.

No, but I wear long pants, long sleeved shirts, and a wide brimmed hat. My biggest sun hit is when sailing. My boat has a bimini and horizontally mounted solar panel that leaves considerable shadow in which to hide from the sun.
I'd say it depends on where you live, say for instance you live in florida, then you need it year round. If you live in virginia you only need it in summer because the rest of the year your legs and arms covered for the most part.
Usually yeah. I have a black friend who used to boast that he didn't need sunscreen because he more melanin, he ended up with skin cancer.
No, I just wear lots of clothes...
under the desert sunnope, I don't sunburn, I just get that good tan and I'm good.
That SPF chart is bogus. Anything over 50 is a marketing gimmick. I know a chemist who worked for a sunscreen manufacturer. Don't waste your money.
I wear sunscreen and if I don't have any I wear long sleeves.
I wear sunscreen almost every single day. You can never be to sure
I would put sunscreen whenever I go on the beach and when it's a hot day i put on my tattoo so it dosnt get damaged.
I have to but I don't use it
Very rarely I can force myself to put anything on my face- u
No but sometimes I have no choice. I hate all that greasy Creamy Feeling and smelling it all day
In the summer yes
In the winter, not so much. I only wear it if it's too hot, or if it's snowing.
But again, I have naturally dark skin, so I rarely burnI am so pale I'll burn on the rainiest of days, so yes.
for some weird reason I like rubbing it all over my tits
only when I am out in the sun. I live in a regularly cloudy area.
I should since im a welder but oh well. im going to die sooner or later
I wear clothes that cover all my skin an big wide hat when I'm out during sun peak hours
Daily. Anti-ageing priority!
