Do most guys prefer tall girls? Why?

I feel like a lot of guys seem to prefer girls 175cm and above. At least here in Sweden.

I'm 160cm with a round face and beautiful, soft, eyes. I'm the textbook definition of "girl next door" when I'm not wearing something a bit more revealing. I'm always told that I'm "cute/pretty/adorable looking but too short" by I guys and a lot of guys only seem to go for the tall girls with long legs.

I’m around 192 cm, and I’d like to be with a girl that’s close in height for reasons like not hurting my neck just looking down at her while talking, and not having to bend down and hurt my back just to dance with her or kiss her. Here in my part of the USA, it seems like 160 cm is the average height, so height isn’t a dealbreaker for me.

That's a Nordic problem that isn't shared by the rest of the world - Sweden in particular is known for preferring tall women.

Personally, my preference runs towards petite women, but generally in the US, the majority of men aren't especially particular about height.

It is nothing that ancestry had do, I just belive Swedish men grow up with an idea that woman must be tall. Generally most of them have who born and raised here have this idea, from peers or media I dont know. Same as American woman want 6' men thing I guess.

Excatly yes. I heard this 6ft thing among American women but the reverse is exist in Sweden that a lot of men want 170cm+ girls. Most girls here are not that tall LOL.

Average height for women is 168cm here but many guys here require 170cm+ girls. I have never seen this phenomenon exist in other countries including other Scandinavian ones.

It is just a woman problem here than men. Tall girls prefer taller men, shorter girls are happy with short men, but both tall and short men prefer tall women here so the only thing short men complaining is when they can't get 180cm+ HBB or settle to average or shorter women.

Height is not the only think Swedish men care maybe, but many women here feel have low-self esteem if they are not taller than average due to mens preference for tall women. This behaviour can be turn-off for men either. It is not a rocket science.

Short women complex is common. Women who dont have this can easily find a man who does not care about height. After all, not all men are body collectors.

@abc3643 I've only seen this one woman posting this in regards to Sweden and Swedish men's preference in length. She posts it regularly.

I'm Swedish myself and she can barely write in Swedish which makes me believe she is not even Swedish and is just using a translator. Length is not a problem in Sweden. Definitely not when you are 168 that she is which is basically average here. It might be more difficult if you are around 150 but I've never heard any man talk ill about shorter women. In fact many men like short girls specifically. Girls that are above 180 is those that have it more difficult because men usually prefer girls that are shorter than them and girls usually prefer men that are taller.

It's not a legitimate question because it's factually untrue. Also spamming the same question over and over makes it obsolete. Especially when Swedish men all have answered that it's not a problem.

@simonqq It can be sad that she may have dating problems due to her lenght. Actually I had too with my 162cm (not drastically short but a bit shorter than average) and told by many men that I am not tall enough for them. Afterall it is just preferences, nothing to care of feel sad.

On the other thing I dont feel like women over 180cm have hard time in Sweden. Most men here prefer tall girls. I have a friend who is a full head taller than me (probably 180-185cm) and she always get compliments from guys for her lenght and legs. Only complains she has is that she can't find a guy taller than herself when whe wear heels so I belive it is HER that making her dating pool lower than men, in fact men think her lenght is more attractive.

It is stupid to be obsessed about this topic anyway. Some girls are taller some girls are shorter. Afterall we all have flaws and if someone think I am too short, then its his superficiallity anyway. None is perfect, even tall girls may have other flaws.

Visst vissa har kanske preferenser men det kan man ha om hårfärg, ögonfärg, bröst storlek, kuk storlek etc. Det betyder inte att de personerna endast väljer någon med de egenskaperna.

Yes shorter guys are the ones who have bigger problems. Hard to believe that guys denied you because of height. They may have had it as an excuse but honestly don't believe it. Sure some may have preferences but it can be about hair color, eye color, breast size, cock size etc. It does not mean that those people only choose someone with those characteristics.
