Were the women of the 1940s 1950s more beautiful than today’s women?

Because those days the beauty standards were a lot different than today. The ideal body was really feminine and curvy and let's just say that this is the body most people find attractive even today. And even in terms of clothing their focus was on bringing out the eyes and lips, breasts, a feminine silhouette etc. And yet they were never too vulgar so it appealed to more people, not everyone is a fan of vulgarity!

Remember the condition of people in those days. It was after the war, a lot of men died, women were finally free from doing all the work while men were away, and they were down to the idea of serving men and finding a husband. So these women put effort into looking as feminine and attractive as possible to get a husband, and they played up features that men inherently find attractive in a woman.

Well straight up biologically nothing has changed for hundreds if not thousands of years the only thing that has changed is our preferences in style and body types etc. So girls we find beautiful today wouldn't maybe even make the spotlight in the past.

The clothing, hairstyle and makeup style has also changed and to be honest I at least like our hairstyles better today and some (not all by far) of the makeup styles today look better in my opinion.

Not more beautiful, but the lingerie was different, and showing things that are considered 'normal' today were totally illegal then! There was a mystique, though, in the early years of magazines like Playboy, showing more artistic, and sensual images, suggesting sensuality, and sexiness, rather than today's internet porn, fcking every which way in any way!

I find women today are much more beautiful that those from before. I'm not a super fan of red lipstick I think that's pink lipstick or gloss look much better.
Too I find long hair straight hair much prettier than short curly hair (which was popular at the time).

Oh I agree completely I'm not overweight but I'm close, my father and grandfather are both obese and I see the affects it has on their bodies, it's not good. Makes working long enough to keep yourself alive difficult, hell makes getting off the couch difficult, there is definitely a line of health.

I'd say the were better, but not just because of their appearance. They had a sense of style, of class and behaved better. Vulgarity wasn't really accepted socially. Today, vulgarity is often the norm, and not just for women.
