I was looking at one of the models I follow on Instagram. She doesn’t use makeup and she’s gorgeous. Though she doesn’t use makeup she does put effort into her face. She invests a lot of time and money into daily face masks and cleaners that keep her skin healthy. If girls have the time and money for makeup why don’t they invest into daily cleaners and masks that will keep their faces healthy and naturally beautiful?
I ask this because I see so many girls with banging bodies everyday. Everything looks great but the face and it’s because of the makeup. a lot of makeup is obvious and sometimes it literally looks like a mask. Then when they remove the makeup there’s acne and stuff. Cleaners, masks and a healthy diet would keep their skin healthy. So why do girls invest so much time and money into things that damage their face over time vs things that make their faces healthier over time?
Why do a lot of girls invest so much time/money into makeup?
There are so many reasons. I'll share mines. I prefer the "natural" make up in me. Yet, since I was in high school I started "seeing" a weird pattern. It was evident people who were "prettier" "more healthy" "charismatic" achieved better "doors" towards opportunities. I already was a "nerdy chick" in school so it didn't had a tremendous impact yet I begin the "awareness of how image plays to access certain aspects, even when it comes to academics. As soon as I entered college I was so "naive" I really didn't get why people we're so dressed up for classes and put together. It all made sense as soon as I entered a "girls dance team". I learned from my colleague's image really impacts in female behavior and how others see you. My family cultural tradition has never been to look sexy, hot.. it has been more oriented towards my education, and emotional health, spirituality. However.. as soon as I entered college I little by little experimented with those "enhancers" a bit of make up. Yet, yes.. let me tell you it made an impact socially speaking. I started just with curiosity, now I'm not a make up lover, but yes I enjoy playing with colors and "looks". If you ask me, make up might be an art expression, yet for others is also an enhancer and tool. That is my case.
I see where you are coming from but you are really talking about a topic you have no clue about and maybe that's why you asked. Girls usually pay much more money on skincare than makeup. I pay a fortune and usually go have a facial once per week. But, it's not enough to have a good diet and a proper routine, girls can have hormonal issues that causes breakouts. Even exterior factors can really affect your skin like stress (happens to me). Also you have genetics. I can assure you from personal experience, who ever has acne trust me is obsessed with her skin and pays a fortune to treat it. Makeup is just a temporary boost for their self esteem but they would be backing it up with treatments, lasers, scrubs, facials. A lot switch diets, try detox... Acne can really be a blow on your self esteem plus it can be painful. So girls who struggle with it, really do their best to get rid of it.
Because girls WANT to be whores. They know makeup makes men want to bang them, even if they dont want to date them for being whores. They are so weak emotionally they need sexual attention from random men just to make it through the day without crying over their looks. And they dont care one bit no man will ever want an actual relationship with them because they will never give up the addiction to makeup and sexual attention, literally the only thing that gives them confidence.
When what i just said describes a girl she is worthless to men except to pump and dump and if that happens to you ladies this is probably why ^^^^.

How am i angry? Its true. Have you heard of psychology? Im old enough to remember when the typical girl was not an attention whore. Now they all are. Its very obvious. My girlfriend is not into this stuff and dresses modestly. So i have no skin in the game. It doesn't make it not true nor am i pussy whipped simp afraid to say what it is.
Women Don't even try to say you're doing makeup to look beautiful because of societal pressure.
Most men don't like loads of Makeup you put on your face. women spend their time with partner in home without makeup so that's not the reason. Then why?🧐
1. Few girls are as beautiful as those models. 2. They can't afford taking care of their skin like Stars and models. 3. Many men actually like at least a little bit of makeup. Some of them like the diverse looks a girl can have. I think having men's attention is actually the main reason. 4. They feel insecure for whatever reason. It could be because they really have bad skin or they're really unattractive, or it could be their self image.

Don't take this as an attack though. I myself don't wear that much makeup and not always.
It is not that easy or simple. Having the skin care regimen that models or other wealthy people have is expensive and many times they have had other work done (such as getting fillers) to improve their makeup-less appearance. They get their eyebrows professionally done, they get lash extensions or use fancy serums, they go to the best dermatologists. I am fortunate to have decent skin, but I have other flaws like dark circles. Everyone has flaws. 99% of what you see on insta is filtered or edited to enhance and hide things.
There’s probably as many models who use makeup as girls who aren’t models that use models. I meant to point out that if a girl can afford tons of makeup and stuff, why doesn’t she invest into skin care versus damaging her skin over time with makeup. You’re still going to be spending money regardless
Well I don't look like her. She has perfect facial features not all women can say that. Also I have huge dark circles which make me look old and creepy and there is no skin care that can remove them. I invest a fortune in skin care products but nothing has helped me so far. I have acne still and can't get rid of it. I use very little make up. Also I have just dull skin. My skin is translucient and reddish which also no product has ever helped me with. You can see blemishes and spots. And my skin colour looks sick. So how should I remove that with cleansers? If we were all naturally beautiful don't you think we would not use make up? Also if guys don't care for fake make up why do istagram "models" who are the fakest bunch around get the most attention from guys and are considered hot? I have seen guys call girls ugly without make up because they had no idea what a bare faced woman is supposed to look like.
I agree. Skincare is more important over makeup, especially in the long run and also because your makeup will never look perfect if your skin is not great. I think a lot of girls, especially those with blemished skin, like makeup because it gives them instant results like making pimple scars and dark circles disappear, whereas skincare can be more pricey and take months to produce results. Some girls (including me) also invest more in makeup because you can play with different styles and colors (especially with eyeshadow), so you could say it's kinda like art to us.
What’s the model’s @? A lot of models pretend they don’t wear any makeup but they do. It’s also very possible people can’t afford that type of skincare. Makeup may seem expensive but a €50 palette could last for years. Foundation lasts 6-12 months. Skincare products to get “perfect skin” take yeaaars to perfect unless you have the money to go to a dermatologist. And even then they’re very expensive! If you want a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, face masks, etc.. you can easily be looking at prices of up to €300. These things sometimes need to be rebought monthly or every 3 months. Makeup is a quick fix and it’s also quite fun to do in my opinion. It also makes you look more put together according to a lot of people. I’ve heard people say that makeup-less collegues look “unprofessional”.
I prefer not to wear make up these days because my skin has been healthier without it. I typically do spend more money on moisturizer, toner and exfoliator.
But when I would wear make up more often, I did because I liked playing around with different colors and looks. It’s super satisfying to have an art piece on your face!
A lot of girls do invest in skin care products, but even though they are expensive, they don't work instantly and it's a gradual process to get rid of acne and scarring etc, so in the mean time, of course to avoid feeling insecure walking in public, we will invest in make up
I wouldn’t say there’s one set reason for why girls tend to invest time and money into makeup but personally for me it’s just about my preference and for me I feel more confident wearing makeup so it’s no surprise that I do tend to wear makeup a lot in public but that doesn’t take away from the fact that I try to naturally keep my skin healthy but I understand where you’re coming from.
Make-up is an artform it always has been and also make-up can give you an instant boost of self confidence which one daily cleaner cannot which is why I use super food daily cleaners and a good skin routine to prep my skin so when I remove my makeup my skin is still healthy because I properly prepped it
I’m the same way... there’s some girls who hide their acne with makeup or just wear makeup to hide imperfections or to look better but I think investing on products that help your natural skin look better if far better... but I’m guessing it’s each to their own, but putting on makeup is time consuming that’s why I don’t really wear it
Because the media tells us we need it. Even from a young age girls ve would see our moms wear makeup. Its literally been shoved in our faces our whole lives. Luckily I was raised mostly by my dad so I didn't have the maternal figure to show me how to put makeup on. But I did shave off my eyebrow because I saw my dad shave his beard and I wanted to be like daddy and shave too lol.
i don't wear any makeup, other than lipstick ocassionally. acne has never been a problem for me, but for a lot of girls it gets pretty bad and it can lower their self esteem a lot. maybe makeup is a solution for that? and i know some girls wear it for themselves, just to feel pretty ig. the mind of a woman is quite complex, indeed.
Not everyone's "naturally gorgeous" like Jennifer Aniston or such. Plus, being perceived as "attractive" has its own perks : ahead in dating, considered youthful and charming, other minor social approvals... etc but mostly self confidence for a lotta woman.
Hmm im not sure but personally I like to spend more money on skincare and healthy food. Then I spend less money on makeup. I buy just enough for a natural/minimal look and usually don't wear it everyday.
That actually makes sense. But i dont know. I dont wear makeup. Plus a dermatologist seems expensive and they are the only ones who can give the best tips on keeping the skin healthy (outside of healthy eating)

Most women are into make up because they just like doing it. That’s all there is to it, it’s not because they feel a need to wear it.
Just like most women don’t wear make up because either they don’t like it or they don’t know how to do it.
Skincare doesn’t really make your skin more consistently one colour or define your eyes with a magical black line grows and brings out your eye. If you invent that miracle cream, tell me 😉
Insecurities, especially if a girl got hurt. She’s going to think she’s ugly. That it was her fault he was horrible. She’s going to turn herself around completely to hopefully get a good guy.
a lot of girls don't use it for guys. at least i don't. i use it to make myself feel more feminine. i dont use a lot, because i try to use it to enhance beauty, not covering it up
because they compare themselves to instagram models that always look perfect and they realize they do not look that perfect and they wanna compete not realizing that those models look like shit when they don't put on 100 layers of makeup.
