But on thick layers of lotion first? Might help? After cleansing of course and making sure you get all the dirt and soap off and is completely sterile as possible. A thick layer of cream should help protect it from dirt and stuff. Especially if you aren't naturally oily. That layer is important to have. If that doesn't work diet changes you could try. For example eating too much sugar can do it. It will cause a build up of toxins and eventually come out of your skin somehow and give you acne. Drink plenty of filtered water to help flush out any toxins from the inside out. If both of those don't work just keep problem solving until you figure out what works best.

I heard some use coconut oil on their skin to prevent some of that
Putting anything in or on your body that doesn't need to be there isn't ever a good thing. But I seriously doubt using makeup once in a while will do much lasting damage. The real problem is those "anti-aging creams" that remove the protective layer of your skin to let the lower layers show and be exposed to the elements and UV radiation.
Yes, most foundation is bad for skin. I've noticed that it causes me to breakout sometimes. Even though I wear moisturizer under it, the foundation still gets to my skin and irritates it. The less I wear foundation, the clearer my skin gets. So now, I only wear it on special occasions.

As long as you wash it off at the end of the day, it's not too bad
