Why do men and women rate attractiveness so differently?

I don't think these women rated themselves by their personality, they barely talked to each other.
Tbh I didn't think anyone was particularly more attractive than the rest but it didn't take much time for the dudes to "correct" the ranking.
How do you think these men rated the women the way they did?

For how I would rank them? Well, I have to say I kind of do it in my head based on who I would fuck. First, second, so on. For dating I don’t know if that changes the ranking but I don’t know them so it’s going by looks only.


First would be the black girl. Her body was mmm mm tight! Sexy body mm! sexy cute thick lips and pretty eyes I thought she was beautiful to be honest. I love black women. Some black girls can look funny, and she did have a bit of the funny look to her. But she’s still beautiful for sure.


Second would be the fat girl. I thought she was super cute and I liked her face a lot, even if she’s fat, it’s OK. Her cute face makes up for anything else. And her upper body was looking cute too. Yea she’s maybe a little bigger than I generally prefer but I found myself attracted to her I wanted to take her home.


Third would be the Hispanic girl. She was pretty and I like her face. But in terms of who I would want to fuck first, she comes third. Maybe my system is weird but whatever.


Fourth is the Asian girl. She was ok, kinda plain looking. Nothing special. And the white girl I wouldn’t even fuck her. Don’t want her at all lol. Not cute at all. Not ugly I suppose but maybe a little? Lol.

You can tell the females weren’t honest when rating themselves, I mean the Asian girl said that it’s uncomfortable for everyone and she decided to take that spot, not that she sees herself as the less attractive out of the 5. I think most of them were trying to be pretty nice as they know the bigger girl and the Black girl would probably rate themselves low as they don’t meet the “beauty standards”. Girls got more compassion. Also even though they talked for a little bit they had some time to see each other speak and move etc and they had their personality in mind while doing it too (even though I don’t know how much you can get out of somebody’s personality for so little time but yeah), cause they said multiple times that they needed to take personality into account too. Guys on the other hand, did get to see them speak and solely rated them on looks, they didn’t really have much more that that. That’s why it was different.

I think the women weren't rating each other fairly because it is intimidating to rate someone in front of their face. It's also weird to judge yourself as more pretty in front of each other. I think the girls were also being nice not to put what they think is less attractive as last place not to hurt the girls feelings because I know for sure the Asian girl is not the least attractive one there.

OK MAJOR flaws with this shit
1. Only girls were rated, there are no videos or a part of this video where guys are rated. Why?

2. The girls don't have on the same clothes!!! Three have a goddam jacket on including one that looks baggier, one has a fucking dress, three are in jeans with one pair specifically fitting, and one is in sporty clothes. How does that NOT have an effect?

3. Additionally, if some put on makeup, eyeliner, etc, that ALSO has an unfair effect.

4. Hairstyles are not just different, but VERY different.

5. The clothing color can have an effect. Some guys, (me included) love black and darker colors.

Based on weight, facial features, symmetry, association with other women who they find attractive, hip to waist ratios, posture, and general demeanor.

I found it ironic the women's 5th became the men's 1st, and I agree with their ranking. I would flip the men's 2nd with the 4th for my own personal ranking. I agree with the women that the men's 5th had what seems like a good personality from the short impression, but she is overweight and therefore not physically attractive and remains the 5th choice for me. She is what I would consider friend zone material.

Also, you say "they barely talked to each other", but consider the 10 minute clip was edited and you have no idea if the girls hung out for an hour or all day.

I definitely agree with the mens ranking. I'd probably switch number 3 and 4 but there's definitely a gap between 1&2 and the rest.
I think the women were trying not to upset anyone and maybe they weren't that confident in themselves or something but it was pretty easy for the guys.

The setting of how the rating happened was very different, so cannot really compare the two here. The women had to both judge themselves and the others directly to their faces, the men's decision was only affected by how the other men would think.

I think the rating would be more similar if it had all been anonymous, since both men and women have the same ideal put down by culture/society. Though, I think men's attraction is less affected bt the ideal image of a woman.

The guys judged based of looks. I know one of them said they based of personality but they obviously don't know that since they didn't talk and I don't think you can see all that much on clothingstyles, if anything at all.

I think the issue is that the women had to rate each other in front of eachother which made them less honest. And how would the guys rate on personality , they didn't know anything about the girls personalities and realistically even the girls didn't know that much about eachother's personality in such a short period of time.

I think the men's ranking was closest. I would swap the blonde for the one with ripped jeans and then the black one with the ripped jeans girl. So it would go; fat girl least attractive, then the brunette with the ripped jeans, then the black girl, then the blonde girl and then the Asian girl most attractive. I have no idea why the women thought the fat girl was second most attractive. That had to be out of sympathy.

If you saw the video the dancer was the one arrogant in facial expression when her position was changed from one like she literally rolled her eyes that her position was changed, also the girls while positioning themselves are just clearly biased and just didn't want to show it.

The one who took fifth place volitionally, only did it hc she thoight she was hotter than the rest. It was false modesty. The brown haired tan girl literally she was is always hottest in the room. Both were entitied. I missed the dancers rolling her eyes. I thought she was accurate when she said no one will look at her and go “ wow amazing” she was a bit annoying initially though.

But basically I really only liked the two least chosen. For looks and character.

Tbh I don't think those women were that surprised at the outcome. (The dancer was definitely shocked, tho) . Most women aren't oblivious to how men view them. They acted the way they did simply to not look "bad" on the Internet.

I actually don’t think there is a huge diff in attraction in any of them- they are all very diff types. If you account but for type they are fairly even. but still the last two were my favorite and not bc of sympathy I just found them engaging and I liked their features.
