Yes, looks like a 1940's high waisted shift dress, from that angle.

Normally, ladies wear that in black. That fabric pattern is rather shitty though and looks like you made the dress out of thrift store bought pajamas.

You might want to consider dying it a different colour.

Yes, your update puts it just about the way I was going to explain it.
The PRINT on the fabric is closest to a traditional print.
The SHORTNESS and CUT of the dress, and the EXPRESSION of the model is what adds the sexy/slutty part of the description.

Probably more on the slutty side, only cause it shows a lot of skin (short)... but to be fair, back in the 1700's, it was scandalous just to show an ankle. I do think though that, guys and girls shouldn't judge each other for what they wear. If short dresses didn't exist, you wouldn't wear them, literally

It's a sundress. The only thing that would make it "slutty" would be if there's a slut inside it. If it's too tight or too short, that will give off the impression you're talking about too.

I cannot tell if there is a cleavage? But to be more traditional is should be a bit longer. If you bend down in that it is easy to look up the skirt.
