As opposed to shaving your head? Lol As opposed to completely covering it with a head covering? As opposed to what? As opposed to unnatural hair? What's unnatural hair? Everything made for hair is unnatural. Literally. Shampoo, conditioner, flat irons, curlers... if what you mean by this question is something more like this: Hey, if you have really frizzy hair, unmanageable, always tangled, not shiny or straight. The only thing that makes it pretty and appealing is me buying products and using blow dryer or flat iron. Should I wear my hair frizzy, not comb it, not wash it, let it get dandruff and go into my professional office setting and pretend that it looks nice because I want people to love me naturally? You wear a tampon on your period and those aren't natural. Answer: Please comb your hair if it's going to look crazy and scare people. Duh.😂
Just more proof African-Americans are racist. They are not the only people who have been discriminated against due to their hair. Jewish & Italian women will chemically straighten their hair as example to appear more to northern "perfect" standards.
I highly dislike any attempts to artificially force changes to culture, style and so on. People are free to wear or not to wear anything they like, but there shouldn't be "movements" aimed to make more people like it. Can we not just let everybody develop their preferences naturally?
The natural hair movement wasn’t made to shame people for how they wear their hair, it’s just meant to have a place for people with curly hair to be. A lot of you tubers do it and post videos to help people with curly hair
Why does it need a "movement" to have a place to be? I genuinely don't understand this trend to have movements for everything, because absolutely nothing prevents you or forbids you from doing it every day of your life. So the phrase "have a place for X" seems to me more along the lines of "popularize it and attract attention to it". Which isn't bad by itself, you're allowed by every law to do it, but at least don't pretend you're fighting some kind of oppressive power when it's literally "what's hip this summer" kind of thing.
People with natural hair are fighting a battle, since historically black women literally weren’t able to wear their hair to work because people wouldn’t hire them since the hair that naturally grew out of their head was viewed as unprofessional.
Natural hair effects people from all races, I’m just using black women as an example since that’s an experience I can relate to as it’s happened to many family members of mine
Well, but that's in the past now, at least mostly. Although, depending on the job a lot of hair styles might be seen unprofessional, like men with long hair, for example. The dress code and et cetera is usually for the employer to define.
its a silly movement, never heard of it before but its very self centered, egotistical and dangerous to society.
society only works if we are all basically the same. otherwise we can't get along. so a movement that encourages people to embrace their differences is dangerous. it breaks the ties that bind us together
every major religious disagreement started off with 1 small disagreement. when christianity first arrived there was a small fight between people who believed christ had a physical body and people who thought he was just a spirit. the just a spirit group was led by a guy known as aryanastus. he was exiled from rome. went north into the german forests and created aryanism. 400 years later the aryans marched south and destroyed rome. 1 small disagreement had resulted in entirely different languages. cultures, dress, everything.
assimilate. your hair is no less important to conform on than everything else
Ask rather why is it that black people are the only group that need "approval" to wear their hair without altering its structure instead of grumbling about a movement.
I think the business/employer has the right to dictate how they want others to perceive their vision of the business and it's the potential employees to decide if they want to abide by them in order to work for them. If an employer wants everyone to wear a ponytail or have fluorescent pink hair, they should be allowed to dictate so.
In my field of work, it's thankfully pretty much irrelevant as we are required to often wear hairnets/beard nets, so it's essentially a non-issue unless the hair in question interferes or inhibits the use of the net.
I love it! There is something empowering about embracing who you are and letting your natural beauty shine.

@doopayo you ask for opinions and then when people give their opinion, you object. I’m sorry some folks didn’t win the hair prize. I know my own hair, even though I’m not black, is horrible. I have to use gel to hold it in place. But that’s life. Maybe we should embrace living in huts like they do in Africa too — but houses are better. And so is attractive hair, whether naturally or chemically
Sure i mean I don’t know too much about the problems of the natural hair movement but do what you want with your hair, especially if it’s reclaiming something that was controlled
I don’t like certain women excluding women of other races. Why not have it be for anyone to join? I’d be more impressed if we were able to turn this into something that moves us forward as a society, not backwards.
I’m not a woman, but thanks. That’s what this is? Oh man. I’m a felon. Have some shady friends. Police Brutality has been going on for a long time, but it’s so odd where this always happens.
In big cities that have been ran entirely by Democrats (some for over 100 years). I mean Wow. How is the media able to sell this being a Conservative problem?
How I wish more people could see the truth using deductive reasoning, knowing the end game, history and motive.
The natural hair movement was just started and originally made by black people but overtime as it gained popularity curly people from all ethnic backgrounds and races came in the movement
Look at first response to my answer. I would be fine with everything being separate, but equal if people could do it. The only problem is there is always someone out there looking to exploit things for their own gain. Been doing it for centuries.
Less random Chemicals going down the drain. A Natural Look is a healthy look. However this is more of a question you should bring to your peers, @doopayo.
I'm white, and knowing nothing about it, I like the idea, providing it not a BLM thing or something. Feeling comfortable in your own skin is something in everyone's benefit to strive for.
Their choice but if they can't be bothered to brush their hair don't expect me to employ them.

I am sure after some years it will turn out to be like body positivity movement and people saying natural hair is unhealthy and you just lazy to do your hair

Um. You definitely have no idea what you’re talking about. Do you even have curly hair?
*rolls eyes*.

Dude, find bigger problems. It’s literally just about hair? You’re talking about the movement like it’s a nazi regime
if its just about hair then you admit there is no reason to do it as it isn't important? your argument cuts against you too
it starts small, it gets worse. it breaks the ties that bind us together and causes violence
Are you serious, literally no one is fighting over hair? It seems you just like to make everything a big deal at this point
it may seem small to you now, but the differences between christian and muslim began very small too, now look at them. differences get worse over time
This is about hair. Not religion 🤨?

She is beautiful and so is her hair.

If I had hair like you for sure. You hair is gorgeous!!!
I really don't care either way tbh. Wear whatever style you want and leave others alone to wear how they want.
If employers want to dictate what is acceptable for their business/image, that's fine too as it's their right.
What do you think is write about an employer thinking that the hair that naturally grows out of your hair isn’t professional looking?
Right* not write

I’m only “objecting” for people who aren’t staying in topic

you're free to take a knee against police brutality
I’m not a woman, but thanks.

That’s awesome. We need more unity, not division.
I'm confused at how this is relevant to the topic? No one brang anything up about conservatives, let a lone politics
looking back at this
Look at first response to my answer. I would be fine with everything being separate, but equal if people could do it. The only problem is there is always someone out there looking to exploit things for their own gain. Been doing it for centuries.
Their have been people trying to exploit the movement for their own financial gain of course but they’re usually quickly called out for it
Less random Chemicals going down the drain. A Natural Look is a healthy look. However this is more of a question you should bring to your peers, @doopayo.
I love when black women show off their natural hair. I would do it too if I wasn't so lazy lol.
Don’t give a damn. Do whatever you want with it. Just wish I had more hair on my head than on my body
😂
Sorry tho
@innerman C’est la vie
You gotta love yourself more
I don’t have one each to there own I say if you wanna relax your hair do you ya wanna Afro do you none of my business
But dyed hair is better...
Tbh i don't really care people can have hair however they want no need to make a big deal out of it really.
I'm white, and knowing nothing about it, I like the idea, providing it not a BLM thing or something.

Personally I think that it is about time. I never understood why anyone had to confirm their hair to white societal norm.🐼
Their choice but if they can't be bothered to brush their hair don't expect me to employ them.
