Do you paint your toes in winter?

I sometimes notice girls that have nail polish on her feet in winter. I see that when they're barefoot in the swimming pool or in an indoor party. They seem to wear shoes that does not show feet so I don't understand why they paint their toes.
Do her feet look extremely bad without so they can't avoid it?

I polish my toenails in the winter, if that's what you mean. I'm always barefoot at home, & I do yoga & swimming for exercise. If I wear shoes I wear sandals.

In the winter my feet are more pale in color & I like the contrast of darker shades of red.
