Do you prefer long or short nails?

I like my nails short because long nails get in the way and feel uncomfortable to me.

I tend to keep them slightly long because they are my tools. It's WAY easier to pick up things like: paper on a flat surface, scraping things, itching, nose picking, very tiny screws in a very small space, coins, playing with nipples, etc., with them.
On girls, I don't mind them being a tad longer than mine, it's the ones that are 2" to 12" long that I don't understand! how can do shirt with such long nails? WHY would you WANT those!! I've heard of an Oriental guy, decades ago, that let his nails grown for several decade in order to set a world's record, other than that, what's the point? It's NOT attractive in the LEAST and you can't do very much while you've got them! Who do you wipe your ass, or any other parts, with those talons? What's next, sprouting wings and beak?

Not a fan of long for the same reason as your, but I like mine to have wacky colors all the time.

It a started when my daughters where little. Now all my grandkids get to paint Papa nails.

Short for sure. I've never had long nails and never plan on it. I think they would just be in the way and I would worry about them too much 🤷🏻‍♀ it just looks easier to not have them. Especially the girls with fake nails, I mean I respect their style choice, I don't have a problem with it, I just don't think it's for me

I prefer them to be short. I can not function with long nails. Hygiene is also a concern and gives off an appearance that you are lazy. I used to work in an office where this employee had long AF nails and someone in the elevator ask her how do you type and her reply was "I don't type, I get someone else to type.

Medium length. I also prefer nails that are pass my fingertips. Long nails can be a pain and natural long nails tend to break easier than fake. Had my long natural nails break at the middle of my nail bed and that extremely hurts

On a woman I'm with, I prefer nails that are longer than mine but not so long that you know she never cleans under them for days at a time -- nasty. Helps if she knows how not to stab/scratch herself and others... some women are just goofy.

I think longer nails are more beautiful but short nails are more practical.


For example, I am studying to become an elementary school teacher and last year I was an intern at a kindergarten class. Imagine trying to help 30 to 60 children with putting on their shoes and tying their shoelaces while having long nails. Impossible.

Somewhere in between. Long enough to be able to grip things such as lids, but short enough to not get in the way and to be able to easily clean underneath.
