Personally I find mustachecs on their own to be odd for most people (some are able to pull it off but its got to be a certain style and certain type of face). I think goatee or mustache beard combo are the way to go (though to be fair I'm biased as that is what I do).

I am always clean shaving because a clean close shave is something that makes me feel great.
That plus my beard is made out of some kind of mutant super stubble that is so course that I could probably clean a rusty grill with my face if I don't shave for a few days.
And if I try to kiss my girlfriend with stubble she always freaks out. "Honey your face is sharp" .🥺

I think the moustache really suited Tom Selleck. I think he still would have been popular without it. He's a handsome man generally and has a likeable persona.
Some men do look better with facial hair, or stubble, gives a manly, rugged look. However no good for getting up close and personal cause they itch and give kissing rash so I prefer clean shaven.

Honestly it depends on your face and how well the facial hair grows. Some men can pull it off and some can't.

I for one can not pull off a beard or mustache ( tried and failed ) but I do look really good with stubble or being clean shaven so that's what I stick to.

If you can grow a good beard or mustache and look good with it then rock it.

I come from a time when men had pubic hair and trimmed chest hair, but shaved our faces.
