Is this dress suitable for a birthday pub bash?

So my crush has just asked me to come to his father's 50th birthday bash but I want to make a good impression- never met his parents. But I also want to impress my crush subtly. So is this a good dress with some tights, leather jacket and black gothic combat boots?

The dress is cute and modest. Sure to give a good impression… the combat boots, I’d save for another time. They can look good, but not for a first time meeting in my opinion. I’d go with some casual pumps or something a little less attention getting.

1. You are assuming that your crush likes combat boots. Unless you know that, don't assume it.

2. Combat boots will NOT impress his parents. Look, your presence is like an interview to be the mother of their grandchildren. A girl in combat boots doesn't exactly give parents a warm-and-fuzzy feeling about her being the mother of their grandchildren.

Grow-up.
Combat boots are for professional goth musicians, teens who have yet to grow up, persons who are outdoors in rugged conditions, or soldiers. There is no other reason to wear combat boots in the adult world.
