They're very high-waisted. It's a style. Doesn't look bad, exactly, but I think it is a bit exaggerated and makes you look disproportional. You're pretty. You're choosing a style you like, vs. what flatters your body in a more typical way. It's your choice though.

It's funny you and your friend chose inverse colour schemes. I'm surprised how often this happens amongst girls. You don't want to be more individualistic?

I would assume he’s referring to the fact that they are extremely high waisted.
I like high waisted jeans but maybe not so high.

It’s an acceptable outfit to wear if it’s what you liked and felt comfortable in cause your opinion is really the only one that matters when it comes to what you choose to wear.

First of all, you look stunning in this outfit. But I can understand why your boyfriend said so.

The girl on the right is taller than you, but then also your pants are on the same level as hers. Your pants are way too up. I am surprised there are pants that have so much space in between such that you were able to take them so high up.

Ahhh, he might not be used to high waisted pants.
The distance between your boobs, (I wasn't staring) and the top of your pants is disproportionate as compared to your friends, making it look like you have a very short midsection.
Otherwise why not ask him what he meant by that, I'm only guessing.

If you were my girlfriend and you liked your outfit and felt good wearing them, I would've been proud to be with you at any party. I do not think it was inappropriate in any way. Your top may give some people pause, but that's fine, I think you look great and he should've been grateful you chose to be seen with him.

But i wore in my friends bday party what your friend is wearing.. similar to that..
But i would love to try halter necks as i don't have it..
Plus i like how the jeans has old school look to it..

I'm not personally a fan of the high-waisted look, but there's nothing unacceptable about it. Not like anything is hanging out. And depending on the party, even that might be acceptable.
