Why is dark skin considered attractive if a white person has it?

Nobody thinks overly tanned white people is attractive. Most folks I have talked to about that think it looks gross. A slight tan is fine and is a natural thing that occurs if you're in the sun a lot. I prefer being pale though.

I slight tan on a person in the summertime is kind of hot because it looks healthy and adds a bit of color to pale skin, but the people in your pictures are overdoing it.
Over tanning is almost like a disorder for some.

Haven't you ever watched the movie "Something about Mary?" There was this older woman who used to tan her skin so much that she looked like a catchers mit.
or on the early Seasons of Jersey Shore. Snooki used to have such a dark tan that she looked like something blew up in her face.
Natural dark skin suits black people because it looks natural on them, but when White people tan way too much it just looks like a cooked turkey or something.

I've always thought it was a mild case of "wanting what you don't have". Eg. I have straight hair, it needs some curls; I have a belly, I need a six pack; I have fair skin, it needs some color.

Not sure if that is being too negative, but in all honesty if more people put effort into and appreciated themselves and others for what is naturally beautiful about them as oppose to what "image" they can create, there would be much less anxiety about what looks good and what doesn't.

Never thought this myself. People are beautiful as themselves. Heavy fake tans (or bleaching) puts up flags of insecurities.

You mean tan not darkskin. They are very tan which isn't attractive, honestly it can lead to skin cancer

I don't know for other people, but I find dark skin people hella sexy, I love it when their skin is really nice and clear and has that glow. Like damnnn what chu trying to do to me😩

Olive tannish skin tones are attractive. Too dark isn't attractive for the majority of people out there.

Because some white people can be very pale so they tan it more darker for it to last longer during the summer slightly into the winter season.
