Why is dark skin seen as less desirable in some parts?

Why is it that dark skin is seen as less desirable, less attractive in most parts of the world... and people are more drawn towards light skinned people and even the cosmetic industry makes profit on this by selling " fairness" creams and there are " filters" in camera/apps that lighten the skin... since that's what people want.

But just look at how charming and attractive dark skin can be if taken care:

It's all about colonization, white men arrive to the parts and had wealth and power, so it becomes what was sought after. So white was better than black and that hasn't changed. Black people need to reject their victim mentality and out compete white people for that to switch. And doing so under fair circumstances not by being auto granted something because of who they are.

Because Europe was white and we built that power, blacks attempt to a civilization in Africa couldn't match it. So white won. If black had created the initial and powerful civilization and expanded north the reverse would have been the case. Ie the black overlords would be seen as the thing you want to be.

i would say the one reason could be that black women are way more likely to be single moms. well i don't exactly know why that is but i will say men are drawn more to loyal women... so I don't know if there's a connection between loyalty and them being single moms more often but that would be my guess, cause people know these things and make their decisions based on these things they know even if there's no correlation.
