Why Indian girls don't wear socks?

You may know some of those Indian prank youtube channels. One of their most popular prank consists in stealing people's shoes in the street.
Of course a lot of them wear sandals because of the temperature but some also wear sneakers, boots, ... Most of the pranked girls were sockless in this kind of shoes. I've rarely seen that in Europe and I thought it was a normal thing to wear socks around the world.
My first theory : the country is too hot so it would be bad to wear socks. This is a bit strange because people wear socks in summer here in Europe without any problem
My second theory : in India girls are used to wear sandals and be barefoot most of the time so socks are not part of their wardrobe. In consequence, they don't mind wearing no socks with closed shoes because they just never wear socks and maybe don't own some. It's a kind of indian adaptation of occidental shoe fashion.

Indian girl here, the thing is India is mostly hot all year around. I had to wear socks with the school uniform but since then I haven't worn socks once and don't even own a pair. 90% of the time I wear either open shoes like chappals, slippers, sandals or flats or heels. I rarely wear sneakers but when I do don't bother wearing socks with them. I see no need to wear socks and I guess just too lazy to go buy a pair just to use on such rare occasions.

I had to wear socks for my high school uniform. Otherwise I almost never wore socks in my life. I sometimes wear sneakers because I like how they look or I just feel like wearing them if weather is a little chilly.

Socks are made for full shoes not for sandals. Washing feet is easier than washing socks, especially if they don't have 1500$ laundry machine

But mostly they don't..
Also don't make assumptions based on a video...

I have seen people here wearing socks mostly when they wear shoes.
We don't really have a shoe wearing habit every time we go out so your second intuition can be correct that people don't keep that many pairs of socks

Quite a few. I do because at work I have to be on my feet so I wear comfortable sneakers.

Now, in the hotter months, I do like open toed and no socks. More comfortable.

I can only speak for myself and some friends. I wear socks with sneakers and other shoes you’d normally wear them with. Much like you would.

If I wear open toed or sandal type shoes in the summer, then no, of course.
