It is a double standard of expectations. But with the have-to's of formal dress, I think at this point men have more than women regarding how much skin they show. A woman can be fully covered, or show a substantial amount of skin, and be formal either way. A man can't really wear anything above the knees or the elbows and pass as "formal" in most cases. To be fair though, I don't know a lot of guys who would want to show more skin at formal events if it wasn't seen as informal. So maybe that's not a problem?

No the fact is that mens hairy body doesn't give the same result on women. So there is no incentive to show it of undressed. So since both genders react differently it's expected to dress differently.

No. It's a choice; not mandatory. It'd be MORE unfair that women get access to every outfit and costume in existence, while all men can wear to "look good" are suits. Uncomfortable suits with ties, at that. Not saying I want to slip on a skirt anytime soon, but men have virtually NO variety in wardrobes at all, and yet, no one ever brings that up.
