Personally I think that the makeup gender difference is more unfair to MOST women than MOST men. Having massive acne that you want to cover is one thing, so it's a disadvantage in that case.
But most people don't have massive acne like that. Therefore the makeup difference is more unfair to most women than to most men, because it increases the standards for women to look 'average'. In order to look 'average', a woman must spend time and money putting on makeup.

That's a special case. In movies and especially on TV, the sets are VERY brightly lit - to the point that it's almost uncomfortably bright if you are physically there - because the cameras, especially TV/video cameras - just aren't as sensitive to light as the human eye and need a LOT more light to look "normal."
One side effect of this is that those bright, powerful studio lights actually penetrate the outer layers of skin, especially on fair-skinned people, exposing not only beard stubble and acne, but even the veins and arteries under the skin. It makes people look shiny and sickly. For that reason, virtually everyone you see on TV that's on TV professionally, and virtually everyone you see in a movie, is wearing makeup. It's a necessity for the job.
As far as the original question - I say "do what you want to do." No one forces women to wear makeup and no one prohibits men from doing so. If I was that poor pizza-faced kid, I'd probably wear makeup...
Who cares if it is "fair" or not. How many things in life are fair?
Guys can still choose to wear make up. If these SJWs think that everything needs to be genderless, sexless, and ambiguously neutral, then let them be stupid.

Well first of all the female shot is totally fake. If that is the same woman she's had a hell of a lot more done then make-up. The woman on the right is about 15 pounds lighter with no double chin. He hair is completley different and there is clearly been some air brushing and other computer manipulations going on there. Make-up can do a lot but it sure as hell can't do that. If men want to wear make-up all the more power to them. The best make-up looks like your not wearing any, anyway.

I think it's unfair for both, actually. on one side, why does society want us women to hide our imperfections under tons of shitty products which - breaking news - make our skin even worse? honestly, guy are lucky to not have to spend time and money on this sh*t. But on the other side, if they did want to use makeup, I don't see why not. everyone can be insecure, not only girls. conclusion : makeup sucks. f society and do you.

here's my opinion girls and boys should be allowed to wear makeup this doesn't make the guy gay or feminine it just means they like to wear makeup and this doesn't make the girl ugly they just like to wear makeup

I don't wear make up, but I didn't know it was "socially unacceptable". I never under stood why people care what other people think anyway. It's your life live it how you want, and do what you want. Is it socially unacceptable for men to get pedicures and manicures? Or to have long hair, or get or to get waxed? If any dudes out there want to wear make up, then wear it.
That what's wrong with the world. Everybody always worried about what other people are doing instead of worrying about their own crappy life.
Especially in 2017 it's definitely normal for guys to wear makeup nowadays. Girls seem to usually do it to pretty themselves or make themselves feel better or more powerful, and of course guys don't mind. There just doesn't seem to be the same mindset with guys, we don't look in the mirror and go "man i'm looking super droopy/tired let me put on some makeup" we just wash our face with a hot towel and move on. Girls will be like "hey some eyeliner would really make my eyes pop", while guys on the other hand just don't seem to care. Though i know a few who do.

It doesn't exactly raise standards for women because you have to take into account how much men care. They start caring, stop caring and care to different intensities at varying levels of makeup and you can't be the judge of how much emphasis they put on makeup. Then you have to take into account how much men's influence is relative to women's and how much women care.
I don't know if women would object to men wearing makeup in public life because I don't notice it if it is a real thing. I think it's just because guys don't really have access to it in the same way. I wanted to get some basic makeup to wear outside to cover little blemishes I didn't like but I had no idea where to start. I still wonder if a little something to cover blemishes would get negative reactions from women.
However there are other reasons than "it's for women only" why men don't wear makeup.
#1 they are too lazy to care #2 they are too cheap to buy it #3 they don't know how to do it #4 they don't think it matters #5 they think the women won't like it #6 they think they are cool as is
I mean I’m pretty sure there’s studies showing how much makeup can affect a woman’s chances at a lot of things, most easily understood in the form of getting a job or power in the working world. Women’s attractiveness is often an important factor in their advancement.
What I’d like to see is some conservative statistic that proves this wrong. That makeup has absolutely zero effect. I don’t think such a thing exists.

My super macho ex wore concealer. I think men shouldn’t be shamed for this - he’d had bad acne in high school and his sister taught him this. He said it made him feel less self conscious, so he’d put some on zits into his 30s - especially if he had a presentation at work or something.
It's not socially unacceptable. We just don't have to. If men want to, they can but makeup isn't generally designed for men. Besides that picture on your third image is of someone with chronic dermatitis, it's not the same as someone who's just got a few blemishes. That guy has a skin condition that no amount of makeup will fix.
This question is so freaking stupid and one-sided.
I think it’s weird for guys to wear make up though if they want to go ahead. Clearly the guy on the pic up there can do with it. I wouldn’t ever wear anyway it’s too weird and feminine for my taste and my natural looks are fine.
I believe that most people that disagree with men wearing makeup is purely based upon their realization that they're loading their conservative battle and seeing how supportive the general population is. Fuck the haters. Do what you want! 💪🏼🤙🏼

If my face was covered in acne like that guy’s Is, i would just clean my face more, buy products with sycilic acid and use that on the acne to get rid of it
I don’t have the time and patients to learn about makeup let alone learn and have to patients for putting it on correctly
I’ll admit, gotta give credit to girls who did that though
Makeup is for girls, unless there's a strong reason for a man to wear it to cover scars, or deformity.

Actors do it, it's not fair. I mean tbh most acne ridden guys would look better but I don't think they know how to apply it correctly so that it looks natural... at least not any straight males i know
there's no way in hell id have the patients to apply makeup for hours... let alone have the willpower to wake up 2 hours before work just to apply makeup.
