If women are the fairer sex, why do they have to wear so much make up?

I think woman wear more make up because they believe guys care more about their looks more than guys believe woman care about theirs. Like if a guy is ugly he can attract with his charm or humour or character but a woman does not have as many options if she is not physically attractive to men, guys will still notice her but it will be harder for her.

Are they? In most other species its the male that's supposed to be fair to attract females. I think it's actually about the same with people which is why we get so many bitter men as opposed to women :P Women are insecure about their looks though more than men so that's why they do make up which is advertised to them primarily.

I don't wear makeup but I'm pretty sure most women don't wear makeup for men. They wanna keep their looks up to compete with the next woman.
