When it comes to fashion, do you like the Dark Academia aesthetic?

For both men and women I have been in love with the aesthetic ever since I found it, and am curious to hear your thoughts on it.

Out of all the "Tik Tok Aesthetics" out there, Dark Academia is the one that resonates with me the most. I was dressing like that years before the term even existed. It's basically the Ivy League clothing of the 1940s. It isn't a new thing at all. If you look up Oxford University photos from the 40's, for example, all the lads dressed like that.

I really like how it looks on girls with the tweed skirts, blouses, baggy trousers, and sweaters. Very classy.

Without an intellect to match, or at least some impressive insight I'm afraid its all for naught. Most academics these days are rather mediocre; selected moreso for their willingness to regurgitate leftist dogma than to actually explore any new territory.

As the name suggests, it reminds me of something people would wear to school, which makes it look immature in my eyes. My thoughts are.. Why not directly go for looking actually professional?

Because fashion is subjective and I like this style better.

Don't want to wear something just so people think highly of me, I rather save my formal wear for special occasions.

Aesthetics, as they are referred to now, are basically signals to say I possess this mindset. It is to signal what "tribe" you belong to. This is especially true in the heterogeneous societies of the West.

No, I don't really care for this aesthetic and the demographic that dresses like this contains a lot of pretentious boors.
