I do not see it like that.
A beard (or a moustache) is some kind of (chosen) hair style to me. I'd not grow one to ''enhance'' facial features, but just because i feel like it; or in my own ''case'': to place a statement or a provocation.

It may depend on the kind of beard, you know there are some that don't grow as uniformly, so there are always "patches" or that barely grow

Most men can't get a full beard or can go for the big full beard looks as it's not permissible in many jobs. Plus beard doesn't cover the full face, you can still see most. Makeup helps women way more.
