I would say I have a reasonable amount of work experience. I’m 20 and I’ve had five jobs lol but only because I’ve had them during the summer while in college. Most of those have been retail with a couple of internships.

I’ve gotten a lot of times that I’m pretty or gorgeous. Not every day but often. I’m pretty shy but I don’t have low self esteem or anything but also don’t think I’m a celebrity or anything like that I’m pretty humble. I do recognize that I’m a good looking girl. I have nice simple makeup and I’m put together but I have other good qualities. I don’t get hit on or anything like that often but men will try to touch me or compliment me every now and then.

Anyways I recently got hired for a new job as a a kind of receptionist. When interviewing I thought it went really well but my availability wasn’t the greatest so I didn’t know if I would be hired. The job is to sit at the front desk and sell packages for the spa and greet people when they come in.

I was hired for the job in a matter of a few days and like I said I present myself well and I speak well so I was glad about getting the job and figured I got it because of that or something. After I was hired I saw who the second receptionist was and she was also gorgeous and super put together

So I’m just wondering if I got hired for my physical appearance? Lol

Speaking from recent/current experience in hiring, being able to present yourself well goes a *very* long way especially if it's between too many applicants for not enough jobs. Typically the resume just gets the interview, and from there it's mostly your own ability to carry conversation and demonstrate that you are who you say you are. Depending on where and what this work is however, the shortage of willing applicants can also play to a lot of people's benefit who wouldn't normally be competitive applicants, and this would also apply in regards to physical appearance; it's no secret that most companies want to convey a certain image and maintain a certain level of discipline, so a well-spoken, physically attractive and competent prospect is more likely to get hired particularly in jobs that have to deal with clients or customer service.
