In my personal experience I never had any woman obligate to be more ugly. Women that I've been close to in my life looked up to me and sought guidance when they knew I worked out.
My ex at one point even tried to help me maintain good hygiene when I started getting depressed.
I would assume that if you have anyone doing that then they're probably not a good person, no one in thier right mind should be obligation you to be ugly.
At most it seems that people don't like it when you take a long time to do your hygiene, as taking a long time with it is seen as more of a woman thing. I say that out of experience.
