Maybe it's because these so called "Attractive" men have already tried the whole process of judging partners based on their looks and have been burned too many times due to personality incompatibility, or too much drama, or because they're sick and tired of other guys trying to get the girl's attention.
Perhaps they realise that nobody's "good looks" are going to last and when you're old and wrinkly with parts sagging more than they used to, your partner better have more going for them than just their looks. Once your looks are gone, what do you have left?
If you have very little in common and everything was based around the superficial, then that could be a problem.
I'm sure there are many attractive women out there who can offer a lot more than just their looks and their bodies, but there's also the problem where many would see those attractive people as either already taken or out of their league so they don't even bother to approach.
Some attractive guys may not even think of themselves as being attractive to being with. I always thought I was ugly and no girl would want to be with me back when I was younger, because no girls actually ever approached me and I was never really that popular. I didn't really find out girls thought I was attractive until my mid 20s when some actually said so.
I thought they were full of crap, but out of curiosity I put a pic up on HotorNot (back when it was cool) and I turned out to be a 9.7 out of 10.
I thought maybe a 6, or pushing a 7 on a good day. But by then, I was already conditioned to thinking of myself as being average and never really used my so called "Attractiveness" to my advantage.
I did have what I thought were attractive partners, but most were deep into creating drama or tried to change me into what they wanted, rather than accept me for who I was.
The point being is that there are many reasons why an attractive guy might go for an average or "ugly" girl, and those guys have probably just got fed up with the usual high standards, high maintenance and high levels of drama and BS that comes from most (not all) attractive females. They ran the gauntlet and had their fun, but decided to be more practical about their future and who they want in their future.
Hell, maybe the average or ugly girl they are with is a freak in the sack and better than anyone else they were with before.

In conclusion, your statements are about your own anecdotes and observations. Which is fine - you are entitled to stating your observations.
However, the problem comes when you are trying to make a blanket statement on 7.2 billion human beings based on... three - or to be more generous, a handful - of examples.

I've seen this a few times as well. I don't get it, either. For some reason, I've noticed that nice people in general always seem to end up with total asses (who are usually ugly from the inside out) and put up with their bullshit, and I have no idea why anyone would want to do that. They must see some redeeming qualities in their partners, but I sure as hell don't looking from the outside in. I guess they must have low self esteem and are under the impression they can't do any better.
Well I think you are generalizing a bit too much even though I upvoted your question. Thing is, I'm 35 and I've been around (not in that way) but what I mean is I've had jobs in Public Service (Customer Service) these past years... I am ALWAYS dealing with Customers at my job! It is all simply perspective. Personally, while I am gifted in looks, I find myself physiologically attracted to average to below-average women. While I stated their looks based on the generally accepted, I find something about them very attractive. One in particular is this skinny, scraggly girl that parks her horse out front of my place and stays with me sometimes, she doesn’t try to look good, she walks around barefoot most of the time. She is little and strong as hell as she can split wood with an axe and probably shoots better that I do. She has a hidden beauty within her plainness. She is one of those that the closer I get to her, the better she looks. Some of the hot women with all the make-up I find that the closer I get to them the worse they look. The unfortunate truth is that most women that look hot are very bad in bed because they are so self-absorbed by a lifetime of compliments and attention so they are cold high maintenance partners. The plain to below average women are giving and they treat me special and that I like. I enjoy being spoiled. I naturally and instinctively treat them special because they are warm towards me.
Expect maybe in the business world, looks aren’t everything, and they really don’t mean much in a relationship long term.

If a woman treat you like a god gift just because she’s ugly then she’s just a manipulative unconfident hypocrite bitch. Even pretty women can be caring, loyal and faithful but men refuse to see this.
Honestly it depends on the age of the couple. It also depends on how you judge their personalities and how you interact with them individually. Yes pretty women can be sweethearts but imagine this, every single pretty girl has to live her entire life being pestered by guys who are only after their body. This pretty girl then reacts by being really mean to guys and goes out with jerks who fight for her and keep other jerks away. You might be friendly but she is not friendly to all the guys. Ugly girls get picked on by pretty girls or generally grow up feeling jealous or spiteful of that one friend she had who got all the guys and she in turn becomes more harsh to other women, but she can also become a more suitable partner for less aggressive guys who dont want to fight every guy on the way to the movies.
This isn't explaining the life and times of women but can you understand how one would act if they had to fight off all these gross, perverted guys all the time. I see plenty of girls go to perverted jerks for protection from other worse jerks, or humble guys with pretty girls get bullied away and that's all the pretty girl is surrounded with. Jerks think for themselves and so they aren't after those ugly girls. Much easier for a humbler guy to hanker down with.

Im taking education rn, there tons and i mean tons of both pretty and hot gals everywhere with tons of intellect and knowledge. This is a guess put of left field but bear with me. Many people are concerned about being cheated on and have a need to find security in a relationship. Pretty successful men generally have their choice of the catch, however if you choose another pretty successful person you may have to deal with another person contending for your boo. If you choose a middling person, you have then gained an upper hand in the relationship,(they feel blessed to have gotten you, hence you are highly valued) and you generally will it have to contend with others attempting to woo her away from you as on the outside she might seem like less of a catch. So, from this point of view it could be said that it is a safe and secure option for a long marriage, he feels like he is making a change for the better in her life and she feels like she won the lottery. They are both fulfilling the need of security for the other. Just imagine that you never had to worry about your partner leaving? Sounds pretty nice.
Also, this next one is personal experience. If you me3t someone and are not illitially attracted to them you might get to know them and fall for who they are, instead of what they are. If you take out initial physical attraction you have the opportunity to forge a stronger bond with your partner by virtue of actually liking them for who they are before you get waist deep in hormones.

I think your looking at it the wrong way. The ugly girls dont have douches chasing after them 24/7, so they spot the good guy who is genuinely interested, the pretty girls get their pick of the guys, and choose the wrong one every time. So it comes down to naivety, availability and intelligence, not personality, and only looks in the sense that pretty women have more choices to screw up than ugly girls, who likely are more likely to choose the good guy because only better guys will give them a chance.
hmmm... I'm not sure what are you trying to suggest. Being attractive as male of female doesn't give you a guarantee for a successful relationship. You have only more opportunities to start one. Assumption that less attractive people are more loyal is a fairy tale as you pointed it out in your take about males. If I look at successful couples around, 95% of them are with partners on the same attractiveness level. There is a difference, most guys are more pissed when they get rejected by a very attractive woman, compared to rejection of typical attractive ones. You don't need to be Sigmund Freud to know what is the reason for this specific behavior.

First off, what most women call ugly, most men find attractive & the hippo shaped women a woman says is ‘good looking’ based solely on hair or some other factor men care little about.
It used to be that the hottest women had the worst personalities on average (from a male POV). That has shifted towards most women in general now but still the odds of the slightly less physically attractive woman having a better personality are higher.

I have noticed it pretty often too.. I think its mostly because the woman who are competitively less good looking have deeper sense of emotion and as they don't get more attention from other guys, they thend to appreciate their partner more and satisfied, which a man always appreciates the most. Let me explain, so what probably happens to does u call "ugly", they probably are less picky with the man they have/want ofcourse I'm not there so i can't be 100% accurate. Just ask yourself: what do i want in a partner? Then realise the more things u say u "want" the less choices u have + a little side note, the smoother a person is the more practice they probably have so the more chance of them being a multi-partner person (there just being themselves). Wow! I didn’t expect to read anything like this but somehow find that I can relate. To be brutally honest, my twin sister and I both are above average when it comes to looks. I am in no way saying this to make myself seem on a superior level but I have been told numerous times that I am more beautiful as we are always compared side to side. However when it comes to boyfriends that my twin and i have had, i end up with guys that are more jerks and she gets more sweethearts. Maybe it has to do with personality too since I am very outgoing and she is more introverted. We both have a love for helping animals and do a lot of good work together but still end up with different types of guys working in the same animal fields as us

I see what you mean, in my experience I wouldn't say that guys like these go for "ugly" girls but to me they seem more so plain/average looking. Not going to lie, I've been in situations before where I've had a connection with a guy and they always end up with another girl with no explanation and she seems to be more plain looking than I am. I'm probably going to seem like I'm full of myself from this answer but this is my observation in which kind of relates to yours.
Wow lots of tension in there. First of all no one is ugly everyone including you have something beautiful, it could be your eyes, nose, face, smile, or just your funny sense of humor. At the end the person ends up with who ever they choose no matter what.
Attraction is all a preference and just because you think they aren’t attractive doesn’t mean he has to think the same way. Seems like you’re the one with an ugly personality just by what you said.
Good looking woman appeal to higher numbers but there is a higher risk of being involved with somebody who is after your looks and not your personality or professional attainments. A guy told me a relationship built around looks is doomed to failure and a girl told me a bond built around monetary interest is doomed to failure.

Because they can. A lot of women like jerks (or bad boys as they prefer to call them), because they're dangerous/risky/exciting/sexy, and bad boys like gorgeous women. "Nice guys" can be, well, kind of boring by comparison (and some would say more dishonest about their motives).
So some women like bad boys, and bad boys want some hot arm candy, it's a perfect match.
I think you're also getting confused between beauty and attractiveness/sexiness. Some of my ex-girlfriends were never going to be models but they were still very attractive and/or sexy, and that's way better than good looks.
Guys typically just want to be happy and have an easy life, if a non-gorgeous girl gives them that then it seems a better choice than a high maintenance drama queen.
It seems as though the women who are not as pretty as some of the other women. 10 to draw men who are interested and things other and just appearance moreover more than just sex. Actually most men these days are whiny crying babies, who always consider themselves as the victims. They always wants to be in control cause most of them are fucked up in their heads. Thank God there are still some handsome men who value the beauty and the femininity of a woman but they’re still very rare

I think most men these days are messed up. Seriously, an ugly woman can be a real crazy bitch and a beautiful woman just shy and men will claim how the ugly crazy bitch is a nice outgoing girl and the beautiful shy woman is a stuck up bitch.
Beauty really is subjective, and often what women look at guys don't notice. Also there's personality matches as well, willingness to do certain activities, and a perception that some very attractive women are "high maintenance" and that they are just not worth the effort.
Your character doesn't depend on how good you look. Beauty is only skin deep. You can never judge a person's character based on there looks. That's completely biased. If someone looks bad doesn't mean he/she has a bad personality. If someone looks good , it doesn't mean he/she has a good personality. You are judging people based on some of your experiences or based on the experiences of people you know. Our society's predilection for good looks is the main cause of this biased opinions.

It's extremely unfair to assume someone is awful for how attractive they are if you don't even know them (and by the way, attractive people also had no control more control over their looks than unattractive ones, so it's a pretty unfair thing to judge character by). Just because some people are doesn't mean it applies to all.
And the people on this site seriously believe that attractive people get treated better and have easier lives when the same people simultaneously assume they're bad people and treat them like shit...
But don't you think it's a little unfair to assume a person is bad solely by their looks before you even try to get to know them? I know plenty of great attractive people and plenty of rude average and unattractive people. Looks have nothing to do with personality.

My grandfather told me make sure you marry an ugly girl. I asked him why. He said well a pretty girl is liable to run away with someone else. I said yeah but an ugly girl could do that too. He said yes... but who cares. I should have listened to him.
I'm thinking you brought up this question because you are one of those women who go after the jerks. Because if you consider yourself to be the full package this question wouldn't have been raised. And you'd be with a good looking nice guy. Those men you see with "ugly" women have probably experience their fair share of pretty women treating them like garbage and are just being realist.
cause men honestly can find more in a woman more often than women do in a man now days cause men are more likely to settle down and find someone they want and women always want good looking men all the time that have to have a great personality and be the ideal man and of course he has to be hung with all that... thats a lot to ask for and rarely ever come by lol.
A lot of this stems from confidence. The women you are calling "ugly " likely don't feel that way about themselves therefore don't behave like they deserve less. Ugly comes from within
Emm i would say its because less attractive men when they get a girlfriend or whatever treat them better (not to say attractive guys dont treat women good) becauce they mightnt be able to get someone else as fast as someone who is attractive... attractive guys generally know there attractive and dont really have this problem... this is only a have fledged out idea by the way
Beautiful women, because of their high status, are desired by high status men, most high status men are aware of social status, so they pursue women who they think will elevate their status. They see these beautiful women as a way of elevating their status. Not as a life partner or someone to connect with.
A good looking man, who is not high status, probably doesn't care about status as much. So he doesn't view women as a means of elevating his status. He will go for the woman who makes him feel good, not a woman who makes him look good.
So its not that men treat ugly women better, its that men who treat women poorly, go after women who elevate their status, i. e good looking women.
Now why do good looking women, accept relationships with high status men? Because they are shallow and can only see short term benefits, such as how they will look, what they will get, lifestyle etc.

I think it’s nature. If handsome men choose only beautiful women our world will be getting an awkward place. When you’re not beautiful you have no chance to get the beautiful man. I like my appearance, but I think my boyfriend looks better than me. It’s motivated me to look better too. It doesn’t matter how you look like, if he likes you, he doesn’t care about how you’re beautiful for others.

Why men treat ugly women better? Because ugly women treat men better. Easy. Gorgeous looking women take men for granted and don't put any effort into the relationship. Besides they tend to be self centered and not fun to be around with at all.
Guess I'm ugly bc I have the nicest, caring, sweetest boyfriend that treats me like a princess. Probably bc the gorgeous women often have unrealistic Standards and are high maintance
