I grew up with my hair either permed or pressed. If I didn't do that, my mom would put braids/extensions in it. Basically it had to look "neat" and smooth- anything else was considered unkept or nasty (even if it was clean!)
By the time I got in my late 20s, my mom suggested I just go natural. It was a pain at first because there wasn't much I could do with my hair. But we found a style that was neat and still looked professional: two-strand twists!
I love it, very easy to take care of, and I always get complimented on it! Plus since I stopped putting all those chemicals in it, it's grown SO much! Go figure- chemicals and too much heat is actually bad for your head.
Ladies, don't care what society thinks about your hair: if you like it permed? Great; do you. But you can still be beautiful natural as well.
Yes! I know there's many people who dont find coily or curly hair to be conventionally attractive (I dont think it is anyways, most female celebrities seem to straighten theirs). On the other hand, there's also a bunch of people who are either neutral or love that hair. Personally, I'm still trying to learn to love my hair as it is (curly). Its that hair that was passed down to you, there's no shame in that.
I think so, it just looks better. You're showing black chicks in the pictures so I'll use them as my example. When they pull their hair back and it looks like the hairline starts in the middle of their head... that shit isn't as sexy as just the natural look. Don't get me started on all the issues that fake hair presents. It looks better to be natural and it's also what makes them unique and stand out... so why destroy that to imitate some run-of-the-mill roasty Euro chick? Sounds easier to maintain at the very least if you ask me.

My hair had been permed since I was age 4 so thats all I ever really knew. Around 2020 I only got one perm a year rather than multiple. But i’ve never had an afro or anything.

They won't do it. Because they lazy don't wanna comb and protect so their haircand want to fit in with the other women.
They'll blame it on th men and say well you like straight hair
Or they'll blame it on work requirements.
Which is stupid because you literally sue.
They rather do these weird glue hair, or braid their haor til they have no hair in the front of their fore head
I think people should do whatever they like or feel comfortable doing.
I do think people are becoming a lot more "accepting" of our hair though.

I think women should do whatever they like with their hair. I have my favorite styles and I prefer natural hair colors vs the Crayola box look.
I'm not overly picky on how a female styles her hair. provided it's her natural color and natural length (ideally shoulder or longer is preferred though)
uhm yes! straightened hair can be accomplished by anyone. Coily hair cannot and is very unique and pretty.
