Not really a fan, for several reasons, they just don't do much for me at all. The way they look is the least of it, but I don't really think they look interesting or attractive. Sort of neutral on that at best.
The feel is the worst part. Kissing someone with a metal bar in their mouth is unpleasant and it gets in the way. Kissing without anything besides mouth on mouth is wonderful. The same thing applies to oral sex. Receiving oral sex from someone who just has a natural (flesh) mouth is soft, silky, and pleasant. A metal bar is unpleasant and is distractingly unnerving. It's not exactly the same, but same reason I don't enjoy condoms or an IUD. Why would I want something poking me or detracting from the delightful feeling of bare flesh on flesh?
A third aspect is the sound. People who have lounge bars often clack them around when eating, talking, or just sitting there bored, clacking their bar on their teeth. It's probably not good for the enamel, either.

Anyway, I don't mean to sound like a hater on the whole thing, if people are into them, that's all well and good. I just don't personally prefer them or see any benefit to them.
I don't know if this is just some types of piercings or material but as far as I can recall every person male or female that have had tongue piercings that I've spoken to, I can hear the clinking when they talk or I can tell that their speech has changed because of it (year after the fact). It always kind of irritated me. To me it screams "Look at me!". Tattoos I think by and large fill the same purpose though at least with those you can get personally relatable stuff tattooed (memories, dates, etc.). Free expression and all it's just my opinion.
Not really. I don't know how people talk when they get those things for the first time, I can only imagine my tongue would be swollen and in pain. I really don't see the point in having them, I know they were for sexual purposes at one point but I know people who got them simply just to get it and not for those reasons.
Seems to me they would be hard to keep clean and with all the bacteria in your mouth. There is a good chance of infection too. You might hear "Careful what you say or you'll lose your tongue."
I do t know that I have ever seen one done on the tip like that. I wanted one for a long time but then my ex got hers done and it kind of made it weird for me. I might though if my future girl is in to them. I think their hot though!!

I think it makes people automatically think that you love giving oral to women and/or men. I don't have a peircing.

yes they used to actually be fairly common a few years ago then seemed to mostly disappear although the odd person still has one. i've never had one myself but be ok if a girlfriend did but never had a girlfriend with one
I do but I swear your piercings look so painful if I bite my tongue it hurts how do you let somebody Pierce it? You must have a high threshold for pain
