Do you think men's shorts are too short these days?

Three examples of what I mean.

Men's shorts growing up used to be very long, baggy, and past the knee. However, now I'm seeing more and more shorts that go well above the knee and show thigh, especially when sitting.

Personally I'm all for it because I think men showing more skin is so sexy, but I also know several people who are strongly against it and think men's shorts should be below the knee.

I've been waiting for years for real shorts to come back in style. I hate those fake shorts that come to the knees. Those aren't even shorts. I wear shorts to stay cool in the summer. If they come to the knees it almost defeats the purpose.

I would not want to wear shorts like I wore in the 70s though. We used to wear shorts with 2-3 inch inseams. When worn, they look even shorter than that because they pull up a little. So they looked more like 1-2 inch inseam. They were always cut-off shorts also. Wearing store bought shorts was super nerdy.

I also notice in those pictures the long socks. They aren't full length calf high, but higher than most people have worn for a number of years now.

If they're below the knee, they're not shorts, they're capris. Capris are a prank by short women on the fashion industry, which many men are smart enough to not pay attention to.

Also, c'mon, it's hot outside. Dressing for the weather saves on energy costs.

I've seen shorter shorts than that. What they're wearing isn't unusual.

I'm not going to vote but this subject pisses me off. I'm from the generation of baggy shorts that are past their knees. It made sense to me because it prevents scraped knees if I fall. So I join the military... and we started getting dress codes from these boomer ass officers. Check this out...

Shirt has to be a collard shit, has to be tucked in, and the shorts have to be above the knees.

I remember looking in the mirror and thinking, "I look like some kind of fag." Since I lived through the 80's I've seen this look before... I just needed big hair and some sunglasses and I'd look just like someone from "Saved by the Bell" would wear.

Anyways onto my theory about fashion. The fashion moves around. I take note that some generations had shorts beyond the knees, and they were the hard ass militant types. Then these pansy rich boy generations get their turn and those shorts start looking like something a girl would wear to the gym in our current modern day.

When I was in Highschool, everyone was a fucking gangsta that's from a hood. I think we were in a period of that hard-ass militant mindset, where scraping our knees was a concern. I mean we were shooting each other after school... and if you couldn't get a gun then you were fighting at least. High School was just like our current day prison shows. Also note those prison guys don't have on pansy short shorts either.

That's all just a theory of mine, so take it with a grain of salt. I'd just place bets that these kids wearing the short shorts are not stabbing each other with pencils at school.

As for me I wear cargo shorts & most of my shorts are at knee level or below. Back in the 80’s shorts were short & I guess short shorts are making a comeback.

I think it looks better too, especially if a guy have athletic legs.

I don’t like exposing skin. I’m not a lard ass so going outside in the heat doesn’t bother me as much. But when I come back inside, the lard asses got the thermostat set low so I have to cover up anyway.
