In general there seems to be a stigma against men wearing really short shorts, but I think it can look awesome assuming the guy in question is attractive and in good physical shape. So I really don't understand the hate.

If the shorts were so short that his dick and balls would fall out and/or he wasn't wearing any underwear with the short shorts that certainly WOULD be a problem, but I see zero issue as long as you can't see anything private.

Like the guy in the photo... his shorts are very short, yes, but you can't see anything private. Everything is perfectly concealed as it should be.

Overall though I just don't see why pretty girls should be the only ones to wear short shorts. Handsome guys should be able to wear short shorts too, imho... but that's just me. 🤷‍♀️

Also same with waterpolo if a guy is fit speedo is fine even guys junk is not really a big deal I think guys should just swim in boxer briefs or underwear bc it’s more comfy for them. Some countries like France already require that at pools. If a guy is hot the junk isn’t disgusting at all it’s nice to see! I saw plenty of hot guys wrestle commando and let me just say I did not mind the views one bit 😋

Word basically, haha. Like with anything else it looks much better on hot guys than on not so hot guys. Applies to women too.

Basically attractive people look better in revealing clothing, while less attractive people not so much... ha.

Short shorts are great. I go with 5.5" inseam most of the summer, and for swimwear even shorter. Wearing briefs keeps things decent. I enjoy seeing them on other men as well.

Ah yeah. 5.5" inseam sounds awesome. And yeah, for swimwear it makes sense for them to be even shorter considering lots of women wear bikinis which are basically just glorified bras and underwear... no good reason men can't have revealing swimwear options too.

And ah yes. That's another thing too. Briefs and/or speedos. They also get a really bad rep, but I really don't see what the big deal is. I actually much prefer briefs over overly baggy boxers, though boxer-briefs are nice too. And I think speedos usually look nicer than baggy board shorts that go below the knee.

And yeah... glad you enjoy seeing it on other men too, haha. I also enjoy seeing other women wear revealing clothes, too. It shows confidence to me. ^_^

Oh wow. Thanks for sharing. Truly a great read, and I agree with all of it! Not gonna lie, since I'm pretty lazy and have ADHD I mainly just read the beginning and the end more attentively and sort of skimmed through the middle, like I always do when reading anything... but from what I saw they were all excellent points I agreed with 100%.

I was also pleased and surprised to see most people in the comments of your post actually being quite supportive of the speedo! From what I usually see people (in the USA primarily at least) just make fun of them, so seeing people being supportive was a nice change of pace! :D

Why do you think girls sometimes wear things called, "boy shorts"? That's what we used to wear back in the early `60's.

Hmmm... I never thought about it that way, but it makes perfect sense! I always thought "boy shorts" was a weird name for women's underwear, but it makes sense now.

In the same vein I find "tomboy" to be a weird description for a woman who has more traditionally masculine interests and hobbies than most women. But that probably also has its history as well.

If you watch some of those old surfing movies from the early `60's, "Beach Blanket Bimbo' or whatever they were called, some guys are wearing baggies, some are wearing boy shorts.
I've often wondered why there's nothing called a tomgirl for a boy that likes more girly things. Maybe a Jengirl. But, when those girls get older and don't get into more traditionally "girl things" and keep getting into boy stuff, they go from being tomboys to being butch.
When a boy gets into girl stuff, there's no middle ground like girls have (being a tomgirl, something she'll grow out of) he just INSTANTLY gets called, "gay". They never call girls gay when they get into boy stuff. With her, it's just a phase she's going through.

As for the rest... yeah. Not gonna lie, gender roles in general (in my honest opinion) are extremely stupid and need to be completely abolished.

Like TO AN EXTENT I can understand it, because women and men are just different biologically... it works like that for basically every animal species on planet Earth. And back in the very old days of humanity when we lived in the wild and had to fight for our lives daily it was important to establish rules like that men hunt and protect the group while women protect the children and nurse them. It was just the best life philosophy for a survival and reproducing.

BUT the more modern gender roles basically make no logical sense beyond just "that's just how things are," and they don't really benefit anyone. Like all it really does is limit what people can do.

A woman wants to be a car mechanic? Too bad, she can't... it's "unladylike." People might also mistake her for "a butch lesbian."

A man wants to shave his legs and paint his nails? Well too bad, he can't... it's "gay" and "emasculating." People won't respect him because a "feminine man" just isn't taken seriously in our society.

Though as you described it's even worse for feminine guys than for masculine girls.

Masculine women can SOMETIMES be seen as "badass," though a lot of man still find them unattractive for "being unladylike." While feminine men are usually just seen as wimps at best and sexual deviant degenerates at worst. "Wow, he's a man who wears a dress? What a freak. I bet he gets off on that shit. Sick bastard."

But yeah... wow this turned out long, but TL;DR society sucks and gender roles are stupid... lol.

Most of them were pretty stupid but "Surf II" and "Back To The Beach" were pretty good. There was another one like, "Back To The Beach" but, I can't recall the name of it.
There was a girl in my high school, I think her name was, Delores but, everybody called her, Bronco. She always dressed in tight jeans, a tight button-down shirt that made her big tits more evident and cowboy boots. She had car shop class instead of home ec and other girly classes. She was pretty and sexy but looked, walked and acted like a guy! Nobody made fun of her, partly because they were afraid she'd beat them up! But, if it was known that a guy took sewing or home ec, they'd get laughed at and teased to no end!!
These days, there's lots of guys that shave their legs, most often, they are swimmers, runners or bike racers. I'm pretty sure weight lifters and muscleheads used to back in the `60''s, too because, they'd smear themselves with oil and it looked terrible to have hairy legs while all slicked up like that. I always shaved mine because hairy legs look disgusting in pantyhose. Over the years, I just discovered that what I wore on stage worked best for playing drums, at least the way I do.
Ha ha! I just answered a question here a few hours ago where it was asked if men should be allowed to wear skirts or dresses. I checked the results of the pole and 4414 guys said guys SHOULD be allowed to wear them!! LOL!! I didn't even know there WERE that many guys here!! But, from what I recall, not many women agreed!!
Obviously, I write a LOT, too.
