Nope, if that is your natural hair texture, I would NOT recommend you to change it. The important thing is how you groom yourself. Just comb your hair everyday and keep it neat and tidy. You’re golden.

It depends on your haircut and well kept it looks. If it's a big dirty, I kept afro that you can see what side your head was laying on the pillow, then that is unprofessional. But if it is a nicely kept afro and has been with a shaved beard, then it's okay.
