So so the teachers didn't like her hair because it was curly and they only wanted straight haired girls to be Cheerleaders at their school, since the girl couldn't make it straight. They took her off the group.

There is absolutely nothing unprofessional or ugly about curly hair. It is absolutely ridiculous that people feel that way. Women that rock their curly hair are so attractive to me, don't change your hair for a job or person. If they say you do then go somewhere where you are accepted and where you will be happier.

No, it's not. I don't understand this obsession with straight hair.
I've seen girls who used to have a beautiful big curly and now it's all screwed up because they were always straighten it.
They should accept their hair the way it is and stop doing those things.

Well, I'm not of those people who loves straight hair. I think curly hair is beautiful.
I used to straighten mine because I felt that I had to, that I didn't have other choice. And I hated the way it used to look. So, now I'm done with it.
I guess sometimes you need to stick to your ideas. If you like your hair the way it is, then you should wear it natural. It doesn't matter what society says.

Nothing wrong with her hair, and I don't know why they did that, a lot of women I have seen with hair like that and they work in professional jobs. So don't straighten your hair. I also agree that was mean for them to do that.

I flat iron my hair because I'm too lazy to keep my natural curls although I love them. But your hair texture or (for the most part) color, shouldn't affect your professionalism as long as it's well kept.

I'm no expert since I have 3B-3C hair but usually I shampoo, then deep condition for 30min-2 hours depending on my mood.(I put a cap on while I wait) and then I put coconut oil on my ends (they're super dry) and heat protect. Blow dry, heat protect again and flat iron at 430° (Don't go any higher your hair will burn). I put a light oil on after just for hydration. I'd do small pieces in sections. It takes time but it's worth

I tried that once... it took me an hour and a half. It looked good until I went outside and humidity hit it... never again :/

I have naturally poofy hair because I'm black and NO ONE is going to tell me that MY hair, that grows out of my own head is ugly and unprofessional. Thank goodness my school is diverse and doesn't care about how big your hair is. #Sorrynotsorry :/
