Do men's shorts that go several inches above the knee give off a gay vibe to you?

Recently in my area, men's shorts that go several inches above the knee or up to around mid-thighish have gotten more and more popular. However, the style has received some backlash. Mostly that people "think it looks gay." Knee-length or longer is still the more common, acceptable style.

However, I personally don't get it. For me it's the "just right" length for shorts. They're called "shorts" for a reason, and it's not because they're long. Knee-length or longer shorts look way worse in my opinion.

And besides, besides being short they're still way longer than typical women's shorts, as you can see in the example photo. His shorts have around a 5 or 7 inch inseam to them, while hers are like 3 inches at best.

Not necessarily gay, but it they look too preppy or metrosexual to me, especially with the tennis shoes and ankle socks.

I still wear cargo shorts to my knees and flip flops.

It varies from pair-pair. I have some Ralph Lauren that do not but the whole look is a more crisp and high-speed black rayban sun glasses madrasa shoes etc...

Mens shorts shouldn't go above the knee, according to the way womens clothes are made, typically. That's not to say women can't wear "mens shorts" but, the way they're made, it makes it appear gay for us to wear shorts that go above the knee

Lol, no. I grew up watching my brothers wear shorts like that. So, I don't think only gay people wear them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That makes sense. Besides your brothers though, do you think it's a good look for a man? Like if your boyfriend or husband were to wear shorts that length, would you support their fashion choices or be completely opposed to it?

My ex would wear shorts like and I've seen so many others guys especially those who play footballs wear shorts like that often. It looks good if their legs are fit. Not very lean

Ah... glad to hear your perspective, lol. I am in full agreement with you, actually. I love me some nice man thighs. I never understood why society (in my area at least) always seem to encourage female thighs but shame male thighs. As you said, it looks good if the person is fit. And ah yeah, football players are often pretty hot, lol.

I'll never understand society. They make ridiculous assumptions and rules. I don't care what they think, to be honest. I don't even believe in following fashion trends. I believe in wearing anything that makes you look confident and comfortable. If my man or my friends feels comfortable in that and looks good too, why would I mind? Their body, their choice.. lol.
