Why are some people against plastic surgery when it improves people’s self esteem?

I watched on YouTube this show called Let me in and I thought the before and after surgery transformation looked pretty good and also seemed to improve the self confidence of those people.

I'm only against it cause the mind blowing and severe issues that can occur if the doctor/surgeon doesn't know what they are doing can cause all sorts of horror inducing levels of damage that aren't easily repairable. I've had 6 friends who do the practice professionally who all tell their patients this is their choice and they should be ready to accept the damage if the surgery fails.

And its not small side effects if things go wrong. Like there is a main vein in the nose and if you cut it the whole nose flat out necrotizes >.> level of damage with nose jobs, boob jobs its more often than not a silicon implant that relies on the woman to retain muscle and or fat within the breast region in a stiff condition, that means you literally can't afford ever pretty much to gain fat. >w< and any invasive surgeries with breast lifts also mean higher risk of scars. As if thats not enough there's also the buttocks fat injections... If the needle pierces a vein and the fat enters the blood circulation its like instant cardiovascular hemorage and or heart attack.

there's a lot of things that plastic surgery doesn't tell you till its too late. And it doesn't help a lot of plastic surgery ain't cheap either.

Look I'm not saying DON'T do it just research the cons as well. Not to mention breast implants can also go completely wrong if the implant doesn't stay in the boob it can turn also into third boob o... o...

It's not taboo in asia, but plastic surgeries are fake and unnecessary in most cases.

I don’t have anything against it, I have done a couple things and would do more maybe because it’s my body that I love. I think it shouldn’t be done if you dont like yourself (it won’t fix that) or the people that get addicted to it. The main reason I think some people are against it is because bad work can be very strange and obvious like the girls with too much filler or too tiny noses. On the show you mentioned is it for people correcting actual medical complications like the girl with one eye because then it’s not so much just for cosmetic reasons it’s more a correction so she can just look more normal and avoid stares or possible comments for looking differently.

I have had more plastic surgery than Michael Jackson, and Never regretted a dime that I spent on it. If you have a competent surgeon, that has a good reputation, go for it.

If it helps you feel better, do your thing. However, the earlier they tend to start with all the Botox, fillers, plastics, extensions, etc, i tend to see that they always want to fix something else

Some people accept it and some don’t, it’s life, but you can do what you like.
