Why are some people against the idea of plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons?

Some of it is how it’s used not for self confidence but following fashion trends and people ignoring the risks associated with it. This is often the price in your own well regulated country to the cheaper price in a less well regulated or even unregulated country. Yes some people do it for self confidence, which is usually just small changes, it’s when those changes are large or more than required that people question it.

Confidence is defined as accepting who you are, including all your flaws.




Rather than trying to “erase” your flaws. And I say erase with quotations because if you have kids, those traits that you deem as insecurities could be transferred to your offspring… think about that

because sometimes it can turn toxic and you keep doing it more and more and get dependent on it and then start looking for any little flaw. can even go into debt for it

It shows extreme narcissism, and honest to god shallowness. If you feel the need to mutilate your body to get confidence, you're the one with the problem not those of us that dislike it.

I have the funds to get plastic surgery but I'm not weak and pathetic enough to ever do that to myself.
