Why are girls okay with being seen in a swimsuit but not in lingerie?

Like honestly what is the difference? Review these pictures:

They give the excuse of "Setting" and "purpose" but then in the same breadth will post their bikini pictures all over the internet for the world to see. Another excuse is "the material is different" but that doesn't matter because the girl's body is still on total display.

I have no idea how girls can walk around half naked like that. And if it's just "skin", why not just have your breasts and vagina out too for everyone to see.

I'm assuming one is voluntary one is not. I. e if a woman voluntarily goes outin public in a swimsuit then she is doing it on purpose. If a woman is surprised or otherwise not expecting to be seen in their underwear it would be distressing.

Its the setting and purpose of the clothing like wearing bathing trunks or your boxers, both look similar but you won't be walking around in boxers very long

society just says that bikinis are appropriate to go around in in public but not bras & undies. also swimsuits tend to be thicker while lingerie tends to be thinner and more risqué. so that's why
