For women that have really pretty, shapely legs, why have most/many women fallen away from wearing stockings/pantyhose?

Reason for asking, is I have been watching Greg Gutfeld, on Fox at night, and one of the regulars, is Kat Tempf, who is very young, very pretty, and has the nicest legs on the planet (in my humble opinion) Most of the time she 'looks' to be bare legged, and wears really short, short dresses and very fashionable high heels. At some points she wear dark hose with a nice dress and as such, she is a real 'traffic stopper" (also in my humble opinion)

All that said, I have heard all of the many objections to women wearing stockings/pantyhose, but yet, for all women that follow fashion, and many times wear dresses, why not add that added accessory to their wardrobe, which makes a dress up occasion, more striking?

I'm going to guess it has to do with practicality. They're basically pointless beyond a very specific look that has simply fallen out of favor. My mom and her female coworkers used to wear them at the office back in the 90s and maybe early 2000s. The thing is though, most women (around here in Texas anyway) aren't wearing short skirts if it's not the summer, in which case it's too humid. The rare stubborn exceptions I find with clients are almost always women over 50.

Another factor is that most women don't actually have legs worth showing off (and the ones who do generally have more going for them), and the proportion of men who are attracted to long, shapely legs over boobs or asses or even just pretty faces has dwindled.

I work near the Irvine Company Headquarters in a State office, and many/most of the women that come in my office are dressed to the hilt, but don't know if by personal preference, or a dress code with the Irving Company

Because of its association to porn. While it is sexy, it can draw unwanted attention.

It's just not very practical. Sometimes women still wear them when an occasion calls for something more elegant/modest. But they are too easy to ruin to be wearing everyday when pretty much the only thing they do is change your leg color, and usually barely even that.
