When I was little, I used to wear my hair in nothing but braids because my mom didn't know what to do with my hair because she was mixed and had mixed people hair, so obviously her hair is different from mine. Well, when I hit about 12, I was tired of the painful tugging and combing and everything, so mom suggested a relaxer/perm whatever. I get my hair relaxed for like the rest of middle school and all of high school basically, and I was okay with it. But now that I'm 20 years old, the relaxers just aren't cutting it anymore. I hate straight hair and I don't want it anymore, but I don't want to go back to painful combing and tugging with the giant afro puff. I don't want to wear wigs, or sew-ins, or weaves. I just want to know what I can do with my hair to like it? When I curl it with the flat iron, I kinda like it, but everyone likes natural curls. And I wasn't fortunate enough to have long, beautiful locks like my mother and a lot of her relatives. I'm just at a loss. Should I shave all my hair off and start over? Should I just I don't know, try my best to grow my hair to a certain point and then cut the relaxed hair off? Like I don't know.. mom can't find a good hairdresser, and the last time I went to the salon was February 2022 and that was curtesy of my father, but the women there were rude and snotty and almost burned me really bad. I just don't know what to do about my hair anymore.
You could try keratin treatments (pretty easy to do yourself) it makes hair lower maintenance softer and shinier and you can get different strength so it doesn’t have to make your hair totally flat. I naturally have curly hair that gets frizzy easy and with keratin straightening it looks wavy and smooth.

Since you want to try natural hair again, it’s best to just leave your hair as it is for now and let it get longer without relaxing it any more. Then when it’s a comfortable length, you can cut off the relaxed part gradually with trims. That way it won’t be such a drastic change.

Black hair contrasting with skin is considered attractive all over Asia (=most people in the world). Don't go blonde unless you want to try something new. Black hair can make light eyes stand out more. Why would anyone think dark hair is not classy?
