Why don’t modern men where suits in casual dress on the streets or in the parks like men in the 1940’s to 1950’s and 60’s even as early as the 1920’s?

Why did modern men stop wearing them as every day clothing and only wearing them to interviews

I do! I wear my vintage suits all throughout the year. On walks, in the parks, at social gatherings etc.

So many excuses for it in the comments. They're not hot, heavy, or uncomfortable if you know what to buy. All my suits are super comfortable because they're made well and with nice fabrics. They're also not that expensive if you know where to buy it. Most of my suits were under 100 dollars. The most expensive one was 200 because I had it made custom.

Anyway, it's a pity that most people don't dress nicely nor with class anymore. Especially in North America and the UK. People make so many excuses for not doing so.

Luckily I am part of "history bounding" groups who dress up nicely every single day in period accurate clothing. The girls wear 1950s dresses and skirts. The lads all wear 1920s/1940s suits.

Because wearing suits is absolutely horrible. They are extremely uncomfortable. I'm not going to dress like a damn monkey. I won't even wear them to job interviews, funerals, or anything else. I won't even wear a shirt and tie.

I own nothing but jeans for cold weather and shorts for warm weather.

I still wear suits sometimes, but not always.

The reason, however, is that suits take a lot of time and money and they just aren't as comfortable as other clothes. They also require truckloads of the right accessories if you want to do it right, and the cleaning adds additional time and cost.

Because we're not as stupid as our grandfathers. Suits are heavy, hot, and uncomfortable.
