Girls, do you enjoy makeup or see it as a necessary evil?

I don’t enjoy makeup.

First of all I don’t really know how to put it on. Second of all it’s way to expensive for me to afford. Third of all I think I look silly with it on.

Another reason is that from what I’ve seen it makes people insecure. If you keep putting it on regularly you start to believe it’s a part of you. And naturally if there comes a time that you don’t have it on you feel like you’re missing something. Then there’s the fact that you may believe you look prettier with makeup. Which can be true or it can be false. If you believe that, it can lower your self esteem in the long run. Making you feel ugly if you don’t have makeup on. Soon you won’t have the confidence to leave your home without an ounce of makeup.

Just to clarify this is what I’ve seen and heard from countless friends who wear makeup on the daily basis.

I don't usually wear makeup, but I really like wearing it when I want to.

It's fun!
My mother taught me people who wore too much makeup were whores (despite her constant need of lipstick), so I had a lot of weird shit to overcome.

Going to Sephora really helped. The people there are so knowledgeable and helpful, and I got a free lesson on how to do some light makeup - and later, some tips on contouring for masc features.

They showed me on a paper face template how to do stuff, and now it feels like a fun sort of painting, lol.

Nail polish is another thing I'm learning to love. I still stick to mainly black or dark nails, but I have colourful stuff for pride. :)

Makeup makes me feel so ugly. I don’t know if it’s because I’m doing it wrong or what but I just feel a lot more confident without it on. Concealer is the only form of makeup I ever use, especially when it’s that time of the month and some pimples are appearing on my face.

I enjoy it and wear it everyday.  Eyebrows, mascara - sometimes a little powder, bronzer and blush.  I enjoy how it looks, I enjoy applying it in the mornings & I enjoy removing it in the evening.

Make up can be fun. I barely put on make up but when I do, the day is extra special. Not really because if I put on eye shadow, my eye lid is going to itch... oh god.

I only do mascara if anything. So it’s not needed but it’s nice to make my eyes pop every once in a. While. I just don’t have the time or the will to put it on then take it off😂

I don't weak makeup anymore since I was 18 or 19. I only use when I go to church or special event. It's bad for your skin but also I'm very lazy to put it on, so nah.

I usually don't wear much makeup other than clear mascara and tinted lip balm. I don't like how foundation, concealer, etc feels on my skin, so I choose to go without it.
