What are the benefits of booking an appointment through the salon booking app?

Probably convenience. That is if the damn app works. I have a place that does the online appointments but half the time I show up and it didn't register when I made the appointment. I learned to take screenshots so that I can prove I actually made an appointment. Plus I have had to call after making it which completely defeats the purpose of the app or online appointment. If it worked though... that would be convenient.

Usually you can do it from any device. Some platforms also sync to your calendar app.

From a business point of view, less time on phone so potentially a staff saving, or very least can focus on better value added tasks. Potentially easier to showcase full range of your services, upselling.
From customer point of veiw, you can see exactly what appointments are available any time of day or night
