Why are nose rings popular?

Nose rings look terrible and remind me of cow rings. Why do you want to look like a cow?

I noticed its trendy among liberal, feminist strong and independent women. Dunno why they do it. This type of piercing looks good only on minority of people. Sometimes people do something to their body to become unique looking, and then it starts trending and eventually it's not unique anymore.

I'm not a fan of them either, but at the end of the day they can do what they want and don't call them names. It's their nose, and their life and choices don't affect me in any way.
