How is attractiveness measured when you talk about attractiveness? There has to be somebody that feels attracted in order for it to make any sense. Who are these people that feel attracted and where do they come from? What rating scales or what other instruments are used to measure? Attractiveness and what is the validity and reliability of these scales and where is it published?

They used facial expressions to determine what people found attractive. They had scientific ways to quantify this. Heat maps and neural networks were used. I still wonder at the validity of it but the sample size was over 5000 subjects so it was a pretty extensive study.

oh ok. The methods section of that study is kind of scanty and the conclusion that you cite is just a correlation - there are alternative explanations for it. I don't think there is any causation - do you?

I have never done a scientific study about this but I have noticed the girls that attend the rallies of conservative candidates tend to be much more attractive than their liberal counterparts. Of course I have my own opinion of what is attractive.

At its core, concervatism is about being strong and self-sufficient.

And at it's core, liberalism is about weakness and victimology.

Strong people are drawn to concervative ideals while weak people tend to fall into the liberal camp because it makes them feel safer and less vulnerable.

Which of those two groups would be more attractive to most people? I know which one I think is.

Concervatives recognize the fact that when a majority of people won't help themselves, we ALL fail. Society fails. The US fails. It's exactly what we are seeing happen today.

Conservatives want people to hold themselves to a reasonable standard, to be accountable for their actions and choices. This was common sense stuff to generations of the past. The only reason it's not today is because of liberals.

A positive relationship between attractiveness and conservatism does not mean that everyone is interested in conservative policies. An individual's political leanings and attractiveness are complex and influenced by a variety of factors.
