What should I do with my beautiful dresses, if I never use them?

Should I donate them to the Salvation Army, so that a poor, younger woman in her twenties or thirties can wear them? I’m finding in my thirties, that people tend not to dress up, except for work and that most parties are smart casual, not formal, or just casual. I spend more time at home, at work and at outdoor picnics and bbqs than anywhere fancy and it’s possible that I’ll never marry, or else just get too old for these formal dresses by the appropriate time to wear them. As it is, I have limited wardrobe space and they take up heaps of space, with their huge, puffy skirts. They look amazing, but where will I wear them?

I say wear them! You already own them. If there Uber fancy then I guess only save a few. But if you mean sundresses or some variety therein, then wear them! As I reread the post, seems like maybe you meant they are all uber fancy... anyway.

When you say people don't dress up, I have issues with that concept. What happened to wanting to look nice, it can be empowering for yourself if for no other reason! Nearly everywhere I go, it looks as if most people just threw something on from the laundry basket.

Even if I am just going to the grocery store, I make sure I look my best, might even have to change to do so. Maybe I am hoping for something, but I know I feel better when I dress nice.

Sell them!! Or ask friends if they want anything or know someone who does! My friends and I always pass around clothes we don't wear or want anymore. It's fun and saves us a lot of money lol

Looks as though you are suffering with a confidence crisis. Throw out the trousers and you will have space for the dresses.
