Are crop tops socially acceptable where u live?

Question

I live in Belgium and no one cares. Even old people don't judge girls wearing them and they were young in more conservative times. We're allowed to wear them in middle school, only sweatpants, open shoes and leggings weren't allowed (crop tops were allowed but not as short as this one I'd say just a little above the belly button). Even in university/college/high school almost every woman wears them 'cause we don't have a dresscode. If you go outside, almost every girl (and sometimes a boy) wears them. Even in winter you could see people wear it sometimes (which is crazy) but with a jacket on top. I started wondering this because of this platform.

Yes, it's acceptable here in America. I have noticed that when I wear them I get judging looks from old people like imma slut or something. I don't know why people judge girls that wear belly shirts for, I mean it's just a belly. I can't wear them at school I sometimes wear them underneath another shirt. We can't have any skin showing in school if when we raise our arms and belly shows we are made to put something over the shirt. I like wearing them to the mall or just with my boyfriend ❤️ I once saw a girl in the mall wearing a belly shirt with her pants unbuttoned showing her underwear! I won't go that far!!

They're only acceptable if you have a flat stomach. Proof of that are from a couple of the male responses below.  If you're a little bit chubby like myself, it's a big no no.

It's been common in my state/area for several years. I don't even really notice if they're wearing them but I would definitely notice if a girl was wearing one like you're wearing in the picture. I wouldn't mind but would notice. You actually have the shape to pull it off. Really nice waist line, fit stomach and nice hips. Be proud of that!

Yes, I don't live in Saudi or the USA.

Although it's way too cold in England for something like, aside from about 10 'hot' days per year. During that hot period it is also discovered that surprisingly England also has really hot girls. Also, that's too casual for school etc.

where crop top is vommon, it is common, no big deal. where not common people murmur.. until it is common. it is the causal loop. if cover then uncover seems big deal, causing issues, and considered needed to cover but if common not cover then can show.

Its neither totally acceptable nor totally unacceptable thing where I live. Actually it depends which city you live or even which district or neighborhood you live. Some religious 40 people obviously will not see you as 'pure' or 'good' girl and will see you as a slut. But younger and secular people will see you as no different from other people on the street. It's just a matter of people's lifestyles and ideologies.

I don't know. Half the time I don't even notice what women are wearing. It's always the women I work with that turn to me and say "did you see what she was wearing"! And then get mad when my response is "what"? Like I was supposed to find a problem with it.

Yeah they wear them here but not as much because a lot of women here are fat and overweight so they don’t show their bellies much, it’s rare to see a flat stomach here unless they are a teenager and some of them have big bellies, I’m in the USA and so many people are overweight and obese
