Okay. 70s is the worst followed by 2000s.

Fashion started going downhill during the 70s and 80s. I always thought the 80s and 90s were the worst. However, the 2010s and 2020s are now the worst for me. Nobody knows how to put together a decent outfit anymore. Dressing for comfort doesn't have to look bad but people have chosen the worst stuff to put on.

I started to grow out of touch by that time since I returned to Japan soon after and only stayed in the US periodically here and there for work. Yet I definitely don't like the emo and scene trend.

It especially looks bad on guys in my opinion (sometimes the girls are kind of cute in a messed-up looking way). Beyond the fashion, I just don't like this kind of whiny emo music. The music is what drove me nuts.

How do we do that with emo? I don't think anyone will be able to figure it out even 100 years later. They'll be like, "That sucked and the guys looked like complete dorks. Those 70s guys were better."

Don't like The Final Countdown? Some of this glam-rock and glam-metal stuff spilled into Japan when I was boy, like in anime. So there was some gender-bending but the guys who looked sorta like girls still kicked ass at the end of the day.
