(PUT THE SWEATER ON OR TAKE THE SWEATER OFF..), M. C Hammer.

I love old clothing. It’s my favorite to find stuff from previous decades and put them together and I have really never met a deface I don’t like. That’s not to say I will like what was most popular. Usually not. But I’ll almost always find something... The only decade from BCE to now, that I struggle to find stuff I like in is the 80s. Everything looks so awkward and over the top but not in a good way. I don’t mind extreme but if it’s extreme I’ll wear a grand gown from 1500 -1800s if I could find it-but in my opinion extreme only works if you start off with Artie. The 80s series intent on not having any particular style except try to be as gaudy as possible. But turn I wasn’t there I’m sure there’s stuff I missed 😊😊
It's the 70s for me. Everyone looked like they made a run at the craft store for the deeply discounted worst fabrics that no one wants. And it just didn't end there...these fabrics and patterns were on the wall paper, the floors, the furniture, the appliances.
Anything after 1950s. Lol. 1960s had beehive haircuts. 1970s had the extremely revealing disco clothes in latex, and bell bottoms. 1980s had more bell bottoms but lots and lots of hairspray, and the guys dressed like dykes. 1990s was okay but people started the whole goth trend and lots of makeup. 2000s had pants sagging. 2010s had crossdressers and drag queens on social media and tv everywhere. And then country stuff on the next channel, and I've seen enough camo on enough people that don't even hunt, and cowboy boots and southern accents on city raised people. ridiculous fake country people. And the 2020s are horrible because everybody dresses like a stripper.
Parachute pants (i. e., pants made from rip-stop nylon, with lots of zippered pockets) was about 1983-4, and MC Hammer was a 90's phenomenon. Also, the sweater thing was mostly New England states, where it might actually get cold. That didn't exist in the South or the west coast.
And was there EVER a decade where women didn't steal their boyfriend's jackets? Do you have any idea how many shirts and jackets I've lost over the years? Lol.
Anyway, I vote 90s grunge (flannel shirts and jeans) as the worst fashion.

In my opinion the 1970's. That's when I was in high school and I though then and still think the fashions were wretched. Everyone wanted to dress like hobos.
Honestly , I liked them all in some sort of way , don’t get me wrong their were definitely some that were stupid looking but overall they were still hot in some way , I wish I could go back to the 50’s and bang a girl in a poodle dress with pig tails in the back of a 57 Chevy lol
Nobody actually carried dogs around for real, just stupid celebrities.
Worst decade was 2010s. It was just an amalgamation of the past several decades all rolled into one. Nothing new or interesting. It's the whole try to dress like you mom in the 1980s but with a 2000s hairstyle. Or just be super lazy, throw on some "yoga pants" put your hair up in a "messy bun" and call that fashion.
personally some of the super late 90s early 2000s, the whole thong outta the pants was really trailer parky looking. yes girls really did this
The only places that I've seen most of the stereotypical examples of fashion from different periods have been on TV and in the movies.
Except for some very subtle changes over the years, the everyday people that are around me have been wearing the same styles forever.
The late 1960's and the 1970's.
The 1920's through the 50's rocked.
The 90's rocked.
80s... windbreaker pants... zubaz... members only jackets... ugh.
The 00’s. Stupid hipsters running around everywhere. Drinking up all the PBR. Hipster women sporting hairy arm pits and unshaved legs and glasses that look like something Velma from Scooby Do would wear. Hipster men wearing skinny jeans and wool beanies in 98 degree heat. All of them walking an obnoxious poodle or chihuahua leaving turds on the sidewalk.
After seeing this for the entire decade I started a petition to allow flame throwers to be owned by citizens.
Fashion changes every 10 years. Each one is not bad because it is people 15 to 25 that form the fashion. Saying one is bad is like putting down a group of people. I can say some fashion I will not dress like some I will not dress like in 10,000 years but it does not make it bad, because it is good for the people that where 15 to 25 in that time.
I would say 1970s and early 2000s (baggy clothes, weird boot cut jeans for women, trucker caps) would be the worst decade.
I think the coolest era for clothing are the 1980s and 1990s, vintage clothing and sneakers from era are still popular today.
I am not a fan of the 50's, the decade of my birth.
I think the '70s with the bell bottom jeans and all I can see is my dad wearing them
70s - 90s are all solid contenders for worst fashion decade.
80’s…. It was a bizarre mix of preppy bright colors, people who dressed in surfing branded close but never even stepped foot in the water, and heavy metal black clothes wearers.
As for wearing our letterman’s jacket … considering how much gals love to hijack our hoodies, I am surprised no campus ever sold letterman hoodies specifically with the girlfriend in mind. I mean, I have lost more hoodies in relationships than anything else. Even the last one made off with my newest one.
Probably 2000's. Though, 2010's and 2020's fashion is/was pretty bad as well.
On the contrary, 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's are my three favorites.
1980's to me... too Yuppie and too Fancy Clothes.
I like the 70's and late 90's where low rise pants, shorts, panties, hip-high thongs, and midriff baring shirts were Queen!
1980s fashion was terrible. Jean jackets, big hair, those absurd neon workout leotards with the poofy socks, acid-wash jeans, tube tops, giant shoulder pads on blazers, need I go on?
Anything that involves pants falling off as a fashion choice. Also most anything that fashion models wear. Give me real people clothes please. Also,? three cheers for anyone who is rich or famous and wears the same thing more than once.
90s and 2000s were the best. Everything tapers off from there. 70s was probably the worst, but late 60s didn't do any favors either.
I'd have to say it would be atoss up between the 70's and the 80's.
The 70's with the Flared trousers a jeans and clompy shoes!
Or the 80's with everything you listed plus the shiny polyester track suits!
Early 2000s hands down. Who wears a skirt AND jeans?
My vote goes to the 70's. It's like America got real lazy for a decade. If not for disco I would say it had zero flair at all.
2012’s, galaxy leggings and those weird shaped high heels
Without a doubt the 80s had some really stupid stupid concepts. And it's evident because it's the least referenced era.
70s and 80s were shit bruh. my grandpa said this by the way
lol yup. would be interesting to see you with this kind of hairstyle though
lmaooo nooo hahaha id look hilarious
Wow--you made a strong case for all of those!
I'd say of the choices the 80s were the worst though. But I think the 70s were even worse than that.
2010s. Where an invitation in prison turned into a fashion statement (pants around your thighs to knees).
This is a MHO if I say so
@LeeannaDD Was it in schools though? Like, middle and high schools?
Don't forget parachute pants, acid wash jeans, and jean jackets... 😁
The 80's were bad, but the 70's were much worse (Class of 1978).
The 1970's. Polyester, corduroy, and the final leg of the end of the ozone layer! Thank god for the muscle cars or the whole decade would have been a wash...
70s bellbottoms, long hair on men, lots of hair spray, platform shoes, big hair
The 70s had some whack fashions I'd say it’s the worst.
The 1970s, perhaps only slightly more hideous than the 1960s.
The 50's 100%.
The 70's were disgusting. Worse than either of these choices.
The 1970's had the worst fashions, without a doubt. If you missed that decade, be thankful.
basedon this id say the 2000s were worse. celebrities are always cringe tho. they were the only ones doing dogs as accessories thing
The 80s was probably the best decade in history. The fashions? Not so much.
The mullet was born in the 80s though. That timeless fashion gem doesn't make up for it?
The whole 1700s they had no drip they were still rocking the Napoleon 1s 😂
Yeah the 80's were pretty bad but the 60's and 70's were bad too.
The current decade, especially all the cross dressing, manly, women.
@nadstt1 That's the problem, female cross dressing has become normalized. The term cross dressing only applies to men, women have no limitations in this area or anywhere else, for that matter.
It's simple, if the clothes a woman is wearing can be put on a man, a REAL man, and he doesn't look strange, feminine or girly, then she was cross dressing.
Gotta go with 80s. It was so extreme.
70s flares were terrible
The `70's. Mostly during the disco era.
70's disco stuff flairs... just horrible.
Ate 90s early 2000s honestly 😂😂
Sounds like the current year…
Anything after the Harlem Renaissance. Lol
The '90s
the 70s. Leisure suits, bell bottoms, maxi coats.
80s id say plus the music was shit
Spot on With this list...
Nineties I reckon
Everything only the movies was dope back then
80's
Now I think. There is no fashion at all
The '00s I think
the 2020s.
80s & 90s
