Yes, for the most part.
I think it has to do with how men are mostly judged based on character, when it matters. By both men and women.
While women are more judged superficially by their own peers as well as by men. They get to feel more peer-pressure to keep up with trends, to not smell bad, to look goods and so on.. and men give hot women more attention generally which equates to validation if he is also attractive.
Though, longterm most men do value character more, but they'd like to have both in a woman if they can. And the sexdrive is strong so, for shortterm, men mostly don't mind bad character to satisfy their urges.
Men are generally not judged negatively among his peers for lacking bodycare as long as he has some character and we usually don't say much on the subject of trends so there's little pressure to improve on that front (there is also virtually no fashiontrends for men that's anything new).
Most men who do care more, do so of their own standard. Which ofc can inspire other men to do the same, but if they choose not to, there's no consequences.
Oh gawd it really depends on the men and women. I've seen the worst and best of both genders.
I usually take a special beef with women that will do body care like lotions and shit, and all the war paint (makeup), but then they'll ignore shit like getting fat and generally unhealthy. I've seen plenty of hawt-ass women who don't even touch makeup.
So if the definition of bodycare here is using lotions and shit, hands down women top that stuff... but I've seen some dudes that basically did the same shit.
Yeah... the more I think about it... it's not a gender thing. It's like a certain people sort of thing.

Pretty even in my home. I'm less so than most woman and they are probably more so than most men, liking long hair. In general the odds could be anything. If people are depressed or feel unattractive they will care less all around regardless of gender.
@ellefia
I'm pretty sure we do... Unless others know differently!

For the most part, yes. Women are more likely to use face masks, put creams and oils on the skin, etc. But girls have thinner skin with less collagen, so they don't heal as fast and the bruise and scar more easily. Men literally don't have to do as much for their skin and can be a lot more rough with it as well.
It's also societal that men care more about women's beauty than females care about men's beauty. That's why females want to remain looking youthful and there's even saying's like "Men fall in love with what they see and women fall in love with what they hear. That's why men lie and women wear makeup."
Lies and makeup are falsehoods.
there's entire industries built around it...
"for men" is a much smaller one
I care as much for my face as I care for my body. There's not a single day I don't apply body lotion and perfume.
Maybe, but really, I think guys do care we just value function over form. Like getting calluses to play guitar or hitting higher weights on lifts
I think so. My wife has a whole crap load more stuff than I have.
Is that even a question? Smell my stained mattress if you doubt.
A recent study by The Today Show and AOL found that the average woman spends 55 minutes getting ready.
If he spends more time them me, well, I don't know
I believe so, in general, but there's a few fairies out there sure that would give you ladies a run for your money in the preparation aspect!!
that's right
for most part
Pretty much. It is largely due to social conditioning.
As a generalized stereotype yes. Examine individually it could be either gender. Wippipo, use lotion daily, your 70 yo self will thank you!
It seems that way.
Yes, I agree with @EmmaMary
They must for obvious reasons.
