Why do Hollywood celebrities tan a lot, considering that many people don't like it?

This is what school tried to teach me.
Poor working people working have to work in the sun and end up tan... thus they start to think the tanned man is the poor man.
Amongst elite whities like me... it's the opposite. Poor people have to work in a office and don't get a tan, and only the rich and well off get to go get one on the beach playing and having fun in the sun.

I am not telling you this is what I believe. I'm just telling you what they tried to teach me.
I may be white af, but I do realize my skin color is just a result of where my ancestors were under the sun in the past. Only retards attribute their worth to their skin color.
Don't get me wrong though... there are attributes that got breeded in... because environment. That's all I will say unless asked for further banter.
It seems like whatever the most common color is in a country; the opposite is what people find most attractive. In America we have mostly white people, so tanned skin is regarded as more interesting and attractive.
So are Indians with a brown skin considered more attractive? 🤔
People with similar skin tones; yes.
Not much longer. White's should be a minority by 2045
Well polls on this site don't necessarily reflect societal preferences as a whole. I think in real life, preferences and opinions are much more diverse than on G@G.
Also, it doesn't necessarily mean that some of these celebrities tan on purpose. We have to remember that they're rich and since they don't work a traditional 9-5 they often have a lot of free time unless they're working on a project. So they vacation a lot, go to the beach etc
Because people still might consider having a tan attractive. But usually that depends on culture and where you're from. In the US, most people consider tan to be attractive. Where in a place like Japan, they think being pale is more attractive. I should've just given the simple answer that different cultures have different beauty standards. But I answered it, so no turning back now.
Celebrities often tan because it can enhance their appearance under the bright lights and cameras of Hollywood. A tan can make the skin look more even-toned and give a healthy, glowing appearance. Also, fashion and beauty standards are always shifting, and sometimes a bronzed look is simply in vogue. Personal preference plays a huge role too—some individuals just feel more confident and vibrant with tanned skin. The entertainment industry is diverse and looks often vary, so while some might prefer pale skin, others adore the sun-kissed glow! What about you, do you prefer a particular look?
I like a person's natural skin colour

Is it flipping back the other way now?
At least through the 1980s and 1990s, people got tans to be more attractive. I was in the minority in that I find tans disgusting and preferred the pale-as-a-corpse look.
I expect a lot of people working high-profile jobs are likely of a similar age-group though and they still regard tans as the attractive thing...
Still, I wouldn't be surprised if the Covid Pandemic changed things for a lot of people.
GAG preferences not necessarily represent the main nowadays preferences in the west.
don't forget that we always see them through a million different lenses and filters and what not...
I hear is due to cameras making people look paler than they really are , i remember hearing a interview from someone who went to a news interview talking about how they had to put dark makeup his skin so that he won’t come out as too pale.
They want to look more like Indian people, so that these get obsessed with them and buy all their movies! It’s a big market! 🙀
India the subcontinent right? Not native American?
Dots, not feathers as the saying goes. :-D
LMFAO. Never heard that phrase! I'm always correcting people that it's a bindi!
Darker skin looks better under the hot lights of a film set. Light skin totally washes out on film, or digital media, under those lights.
I don't know that
I don't think polls on this website are a good measure to dictate what is right or wrong.
Tanned and toned is the ONLY way to be!! Pasty pale people need some vitamin D!
Personally think there's a lot of spray on tans with celebrities.
To look healthy, though tanned skin can lead to skin cancer.
I seen so many European people tan their skins.. not only celebrities
Brown colour suits skin..
Only Indians and Asians look down on being tan
@DrPepper12 yeah, they are
Maybe because so many of them are from California
Everyone has their own preferences.
It’s natural
Beats me
