Been thinking about getting one as a birthday gift for myself. My boyfriend seems super excited about it as well so that’s a plus. Just worried about the healing process though… please share your experience with it if you have yours done!
I have both mine done. The healing process is a bitch. I'm going to be 100%, They never really fully heal. It's very painful. Your boyfriend cannot use his tongue or touch them at all for 6 months. I found it took a good couple years for them to be consistently good and not play up at all. I still get crusties around the piercing that need to be cleaned off and I got mine done like 5 years ago. I do love them but, whenever I take them out (for kids) I will not get them re done.
If you do go ahead with it some advice! Shot glass and warm sea salt water will be your best friend, you'll look like a moron with a shot glass on your nipple but it helps so much with the healing. As soon as you are able to switch the jewelry out, go for titanium. Don't bother with the "cute" arrows or jewelled ones, they're generally terrible quality and only the bar is surgical steel. (I ended up getting a reaction from jewellery that said it was surgical steel but the ends were actually nickel that was plated). Get yourself a bioplast bar as well, you'll thank yourself if you ever have to get surgery or any medical procedure where you can't wear metal.
Once you get past that initial healing phase they are pretty fun to have 😊
That’s what I’m worried about. My boyfriend loves to play with my nips so I don’t know if he can stand not playing with them for months… I’m also planning on having kids (3+ years from now) so that’s also something I’m taking into consideration.
I’ve heard how salt water can do wonders! I’m guessing it’s not cooking salt that does the trick tho right? Lol
You’re right about the titanium, I’m sensitive to jewelry (can only wear stainless, titanium, platinum, sterling silver or gold) - definitely staying away from those “cute” novelty jewelries and sticking with the basics.
When you mentioned “crusties” what exactly do you mean? Like leakage from the pierced site? I’ve read about this but no one ever really talks about what exactly it is
You can totally still keep the piercings in through pregnancy, may have to change them out for longer ones to allow for any swelling. But if you're planning on breastfeeding, best to take them out as you can't feed with them in. I don't know how people cope with taking them in and out to feed their babies 😬
Sea salt water specifically, don't want table or rock salt. Can still find it in supermarkets amongst the other salts lol
It's basically like a scab that forms around the opening/ gets stuck on the jewelry. It's not major, just have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't stick and cause micro tears.
Oh I’m definitely keeping them in when I do get pregnant one day lol (unless instructed otherwise). Have you ever taken yours out for more than a day/couple of days?

Nope I've never left the jewelry out. I had surgery and just put bioplast ones in so they weren't an issue.
I just clean them off in the shower, doesn't need anything crazy the water softens everything enough

I never think of nipple piercings unless I see a question mentioning them or unless I hear nipple piercings being mentioned in a conversation about piercings. Anyway, I don't have any issues with what other people choose to do with their body parts.

Personally, I'm always scared I'll accidentally rip a piercing out. I fear for the chick's safety. As far as experience goes... I knew this chick that got nipple piercings... and then she let some dude suck her tits. Long story short... she got an infection and the doctors cut most of her tittie off.
I guess you can figure I wouldn't give positive vibes towards getting it done with someone I fuck, and sure as fuck wouldn't want one of my daughters doing that to herself.
Just weigh the risks versus the benefits. The benefits are not all that in the long run. Anything looks good on a hawt chick, but it's just more trash on a trash chick.

your piercer will talk you through it all and suggest things like a sticky plaster over your piercings to prevent snagging while healing.

Yeah the only concern that I have is how long the healing process is going to take… I suggested to get matching ones with my boyfriend but he doesn’t want to appear “sassy” lol

The place you choose will provide details, however everyone is different which is why they say 4-6 months. Apparently wearing a bra or sports bra helps with it all, I guess that likely depends on boob size n shape, also type of clothing.
Some clothing that has gaps (jumpers etc) is more snaggy.
Ikr! I think nipple piercings on guys can be really hot. I’m still in the process of researching especially about the after care. The fact that it takes up to 12 months to heal is worrisome though… I work out a lot so I’m worried that my sweat might affect the healing process. For a guy it’s easier and tbh takes less time as there is very limited movement of the nipples.
Also I think age plays apart, our bodies sort themselves out quicker late teens to mid 20’s.
The thing is… I’m old lol I’ve always wanted one but was never brave enough, I’m turning 30 this year and have finally decided to get one to celebrate. So I guess it’s gonna take forever for it to heal in my case then 😅

Most of the time I don’t notice them, however they are sensitive and great with a partner, sexually they are really good. Also a bit like tattoos can be a talking point when out at a pub etc.
With guys not having periods etc, we don’t get the same hormonal fuck around that girls do, I think that also plays a part in the healing, along with boob size I would guess and it’s a guess.
Lol I know but I can’t believe I will no longer be considered to be in my 20s anymore in a couple of months, I’ll be in my 30s 😱

My boobs are big for my frame. I’m 5’1 and 98 lbs but I have C-D cups but my flat nipples are one of my insecurities, which is why I considered getting them pierced. I heard once they’re piercer they’ll stay perked up pretty much all the time so I’m excited for that bonus aspect.
Question tho, when you take them off, do they tend to heal up immediately? I’m planning to be a mom one day (breastfeed), so I know I will have to take them off at one point.

Depending on the shape and size of your nipple determines how attractive it is for me. You should be concerned about the healing process, they say it can take up to a year. Do you only plan on doing one or getting them both done at the same time?
That’s my biggest concern and the only thing that’s stopping me from getting it done. I’ve been wanting one for years but I’m to intimidated by the healing process. I think I might as well get both at the same time if I were to get one, I can just take them off and let them close up if I change my mind.
I know a lot of women have only gotten one done because it was so painful that chickened out doing the other. Pierce nipples can be beautiful but this is just my opinion. If your nipples don't stick out kind of like pencil erasers, I'm not a big fan
I was planning on getting one side done but my boyfriend is persuading me to get both lol I’m dreading the healing process tho…

Ohh nice! Mind sharing which piercing was the most difficult (in terms of pain and the healing process)? I only have regular ear lobe piercings so I’m not well versed in the piercings world. I got a helix back in high school but it never healed so I took them off. My boyfriend also had his nose bridge pierced but it also never healed. Now I’m concerned about if my nipple piercings will ever heal if I were to get them…

I know of one that usually takes a longer time to heal, and these are the navel piercings (the belly button ones) and that's because of the placement, not only we use clothing that can mess with it but also we do sleep every night, and there's no telling about how much we move at nights during our sleep and keep "hurting" the wound, and then the constant moving around the day, so... those can take a bit longer to heal
one important thing to note is that we're all different in few ways, so whatever heals for some won't heal for others and so on
you mentioned Helix and also Nose Bridge piercings... and the Helix are cartilage so that's why they take longer to heal and might even become problematic for some, but the one for Nose Bridge might be a different cause, perhaps a bit of infection/irritation... and sometimes some people's bodies just do not like foreign objects one bit, lol
now, Nipple piercings will definitely take a longer time to full heal, yes... it could take a few months for them to heal completely
if you didn't have infections with your ear piercings, then the ones on flesh and skin might go well and heal okay
Very great insight, much appreciated! I never had issues with my tattoos (they’re small tho) so I’m hoping that my nipples would heal just fine… This is getting me super pumped tho, I almost want to just bite the bullet and do it asap lol
don't rush it, no...
make sure you find a good place and a better artist to do it (don't go cheaper either)
and make sure if possible, to consult first... so you get the full deal going on, before you do it, lol
I’m definitely waiting it out, my plan is to get it done either in another month (for our anniversary) or wait it out until the end of the year for my bday.

I know there’s people enjoying them, for example I have a colleague with one on her tongue that makes her speak a bit strange. I understand it’s a way to express unicity and personality, but as you said it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
Be careful on doing it in a clean tattoo shop and it should be a bit safer for healing.
I don’t understand tongue piercings though, don’t they get in the way when you eat? I’ll be too scared of ripping them out by accident when eating… but they do look really good on some people!

Not a specific bra. Just one that dident move around and dident have anything to catch on like lace or mesh. Sports bras worked well. You Probally won’t want to work out for the first week or so tho
